I done it yesterday, hardly any difference, seemed to have less lag, where before power would come in stronger in one go my car with this mod would come in smoother.

I put it back coz i didnt know whether or not i should be messin round with this. But wiith Martyns way its easy enough to do so i can try it at any time.

But i do wanna get rid of the awful black thing and tidy the engine up more.

Remove it all. Started on the engine bay this week. Coming along slowly.
Looks like a decent mod. All looks a bit too messy up there!
Sounds like a good enough reason to remove it! lol :funk:

So basically all you are doing is taking the vac line that runs into the front of the N249 and connecting this to the DV?

Ahh, i see now. You have taken the pipe from the black/white tube shaped object and connected this to the valve on the top left hand side of the head?

I actually wanna do this properly now, with all the resistors etc... just to clean up the engine bay further.

But, is this actually gonna do any harm to the engine? I've never seen limp mode on a boost spike but i dont want to start cutting things up and realise it puts me into limp mode.

daz, if you fancy knockin me up a board with the resistors on that would be great. lol. there a big mac in it for you or something. :D

hmm i'd be tempted to do this too but ive got to get mine running tidy first! Ive seen some fantastic looking 20v turbo engines in various VAG motors and they've all been so smooth and cleaning looking with lots od shiny bits, especially the rocker cover and inlet manifold which are high on my prioritys!
