you just have to give it a firm tug and hold the roof down around it and pray!

Mine came off ok just need to pull harder then you might expect, dont pull towards the side so if you cant get a good angle stand on a chair at the rear of the car and dont fall off, good luck, if you search for s2000 ariel i think there is a couple of exisiting threads

Good advice. You really do have to pull at it harder than you might imagine. Be firm but careful, pull don't yank.

Oh, and if you do stand on a chair, make sure you're well balanced so you don't go flying off backwards when the aerial comes off ;)

All good advice does take a good tug to be honest. It is meant to be an anti theft feature I believe. So unscrew it as far as it will go and then tug it hard. It does go back on quite easily to should it ever need to. I have the S2000 aeriel and it looks great. Have a link to the seller if you need one.

God these are tight to get off, tried taking mine off the other day, ended up stood behind the car reaching over and holding the base with one hand whilst playing tug of war with the other hand, came off in the end LOL.
Put it back on after the car wash (don't have a go, hand washed it twice and some of the crap off wheel spray would not budge so took it to the car wash)

So I am thinking now of getting the S2000 one, do they mess with the radio reception at all, as this is pretty bad with the standard one?

Bought mine from this guy. Fits perfect and reception is brilliant. No complaints at all. If you buy this one make sure you state that it's for a leon as it needs the long thread. He originally sent me a short thredded one which didn't fit. He sent out the right one the next day - great service. I told him to update his advert to state that buyer should state what car it is for.For the price its a bargain and looks great.

Ross the Honda one will go better with the base as they are the same material. Yours looks tidy but different material so wont match brilliantly with base.
