Hi there guys. Just about 6 or 7 weeks ago, i decided to get my 11 month old ibiza fr remapped, and i have to say i was impressed with the performance before, but now its like night and day!!! I got the remap at Angel Tuning. Its rated a safe remap and has taken the car from 130 bhp to just under 190bhp and from 229 ft lbs of torque to 310 ft lbs of torque. Its magnificent and as i do heavy mileage (80 mile round trips to work a day) ive now done just over 2000 miles on it and its great to drive. Befoe i got it done i was worried about the obvious wear and tear issues, with clutch fly wheel etc, but Angel Tuning told me the map is done to within the limits of the cars potential. I'm just wondering firstly if any of you have some advice on looking after the car e.g extra servicing etc? and also now with the power hike what hot hatches will it now compete with? Has any of you got any feeback at all after having the same modification?
Any comments would be appreciated. Cheers
Puts a smile on my face everyday :)

190 bhp sounds a little high from just a remap on a 130, did they do a before and after rolling road run? My Cupra tdi was Revo'd on saturday and made 200bhp and 306 lbft and thats with a larger turbo an fmic as standard?

THey did state the remap would take it to 180 bhp but when on rolling road was kicking out 187bhp. They did say however they have done cupras and both cars are very similair in gains and there isnt much in it? Rolling roaded standard the car read 136 bhp. Nd they also showed the torque gain which is normal on the map apparantly? How do you find your cupra to drive after the remap?

Mine goes like stink, even custom code and revo stage one on a 130 is 175 ish, if your running a standard 130 at 187 you wont be for long, its gonna get very hot! with a standard intercooler, thats far from a safe remap

hmm I'm suspicious. I was of the impression that a good map on a 130 Tdi would put out 170bhp. There is a difference in turbo size. Did they give you charts? Would be intresting to see if i wasted money getting a cupra.

Thats the lot to be honest mate, i had it rolling roaded locally before hand, because apparantly the VAG motors have more power than they let on and rite enuf it was a bit more. To be honest i was a bit edgy about getting the remap, but it's been nothing but brillaint, only other mod im thinking on gettin is cosmetic, and thats xenon lights? WHat about yorself mate you got many modds on ur motor?

TO be honest guys i was surprised as well, i was aware of the fr puttin out 180, and watered down maps 170, i thought mine was unique lol in power output but i have looked on other threads and the late 180s are more common than i thought! ANd to be honest the guy paul did say without me asking that remap cupra vs remap fr he has done there is not a lot in it. He showed me the charts on the fr tdi and the equivalant fabia vrs( apparantly he gets more of them) and they are basically identical figures

I was going to ask though do any of you find the brakes a bit spongy after remap? Im aware cupra's have better brakes and suspension just wondering if any of you experienced it?

Ah right, bit of a problem as im from scotland, west coast near glasgow. Thats a massive output standard bud, i was told though that VAG's figures are consecutive lol, i had a wee play with 1 of my m8s hus just purchased a 54 plate cupra 20v turbo, and i dont know about off the mark but in gear, it's fare to say i got the upperhand to quite a noticeable extent, his is standard 180 (not rolling roaded) How do you feel your car is to drive? ANd what about ur clutch as both the fr and cupra share the same clutch, im let to believe?

never got my one mapped at standard - or now to this matter but mine is going in for a Sachs clutch and flywheel tomorrow and I'll wait for a RR day to find out.

Haven't done much else to it so far, need to do little things like mk4 golf side repeaters, S2000 ariel, rear spacers etc but ive been saving up for this big job. My OEM clutch started slipping between 2000 and 3000 rpm.

my FR was running 150 standard and mapped to 180 (on P torques rollers)

anything over 300lbft and you will be doing a clutch soon

Could be an over rated rolling road - happened a few times... normally PD130's push out up to 10bhp more standard and can put out high 170bhp from a remap.

I wouldn't expect the turbo/clutch to last too long if it is 187bhp!

My old Ibiza ran 165bhp and 298lb/ft then re-remapped after exhaust and got 176bhp and 301lb/ft.

A FMIC and stage 2 map will put out 180bhp ish and similar torque.

Thanks for the comments guys, you might be ight lads about rolling road, it was advertised at 180bhp, it was just funny because a lot of fabia vrs's had the same map and they were all pushin on the rollin roads mid to late 180's and they never had a problem? But i can understand if the rolling road is inaccurate.

That sounds bang on the money Ad Lav, thats why i got a cupra, thought might as well spend the extra on the car instead of upgrading a 130 with fmic and stage 2 etc.
