Hi all,
Hope you've had a good christmas. Since fitting my cold air intake induction, the low rev grunt is pretty awesome, and you can really hear the 007p now. I am however unsure about performance since fitting it. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the car seems less 'urgent' to accelerate now? Something's not quite right but I'm thinking maybe I've gotten used to the power and it doesn't feel so fast anymore, or that the noise under the bonnet is drawing my attention away from the performance  As it makes a loud sssssssch noise when I accelerate lol

Is it possible at all for a CAI to cause less responsive acceleration? Engine is 1.8t Cupra.

Thanks!

Possibly initially after standing in traffic as the air it take in will have been sat in the engine bay, but after a few feet the cold will be in there. How did this kit fit? i had looked at it a few times but thought no. Glad someone had the bottle to try it.

Fitment was spot on, the filter sits nicely right down behind the bumper.

Whats the small pipe 'T'd into the side of the shiney induction pipe for?

To connect the silicon tube to the secondary air intake I think.

Na the secondary air intake is usually below the intake manifold.
does your port have a pipe to it and where does it go to.
this might be causing a problem

The T pipe in the ali intake pipe is where I have attached a silicon hose, and this pushes into the secondary air intake pipe which leads below the manifold...

But I have now removed that pipe, blocked the T outlet off, and fitted a small filter onto the secondary intake :)

Why would that be it mate? The secondary intake is still sucking in air as it was when connected to the T bend? Or do you think because the secondary intake was sharing the main intake, it was taking away some of the air = less power?

Good news - it's back to it's usual smoooooothness and responsive throttle :D I don't know what did it, the fill up of oil or fitting the filter to the secondary intake. I also bought some injector cleaner and whacked that in the tank.

Anyway she's running great now so I'm happy

looks really good to be honest... would you say theres an improvement over the standard airbox i.e power?? throttle response?? ...... could you also get a pic up of where the filter is behind the bumper??? One last question.... dont want the red hoses... are thy available in any other colors??

cheers

I think they may be available in blue if you enquire to the seller mate... The car does seem to pull ABIT better and smoother as if it's breathing more freely, and due to the filter's location, it's constantly getting access to cold air :) The low rev grunt is the best feature though IMO

surely if you change the air flow it will mess your map up aswell because of the mixture changing, i was allways lead to believe that yes induction kits whilst sounding more meaty actually decrease the performance of your car, surely seat would have fitted your car with the best possiable induction available

i wouldnt recommend that filter too much to be honest, had one fitted to my leon, because the filters sat so low, it sucks water up! literally its about 8 inches off the floor with nothing protecting it from the tarmac
