have you checked to see whether it's blocked?
when i got mine, it was completely blocked with something that looked like limescale. it wouldn't shift, so i just got a new one which wasn't that expensive from a dealer..

can you hear the pump, or is there just no noise when you try?

Can you hear the motor whirring ? (might need to be stationary with the engine off to hear this)

If yes, it's probably the hose connection in the tailgate *stop testing at this point, or you'll flood the tailgate

If no, check the fuses.... and then other electrical sources

Could also be a blockage in the nozzle which a pin might help to dislodge ;)

It is probably the brass pipe that connects the fluid feed to the nozzle which runs through the centre of the motor spindle. Common weakness - it corrodes then snaps.

If your nozzle moves with the wiper arm it's f**ked

VAG parts sell a repair kit for it.

Mine was just a plastic join, i just plugged it back in and that was that, on a related note my squirty nozzle is'nt going around with the wiper, any idea what might be causing that.

The squirty jet is just an extension of the arm, ie when the motor turns the arm the jet should move with it. try taking the arm off and having a look at it, perhaps a nutt needs tightening, although would have thought this would cause the opposite ie the arm wouldnt move but the washer jet may..

I'll have a look at my arm 2moz when its light to see if i can shed any light on what could be the possible cause, because i just assume its the washer jet slipping some how.

I have a slightly different problem. I seem to be missing the jet, it fires straight into the wiper arm cap. Can a new jet be bough and fitted?

The jet nozzle should not move with the arm - it should squirt vertically onto the rear screen.

That is why there is a slot in the wiper nut cap!

If the jet moves with the wiper arm you have got problems

you sure about that?
surely the opposite is true, otherwise how would it clean the whole rear screen?

The washer jet squirts on the rear screen and the wiper just moves the screen wash off the window cleaning it at the same time, some cars do have washer jets that move with wiper or sometimes they are on the wipers.

Also another thing to check if the rear washer isnt working is to make sure that the hose is connected to the pump on the washer bottle as my mates car had come off some how.
