guide, on previous cars I'd just used clamps or tyre irons to force the pistons back but took your advice and invested in a rewind tool.
The pistons were quite reluctant to go back and had to stick a socket on the end of the tool with a wheel brace to get enough leverage!
There was no way it was possible to hold the caliper while turning so had to brace it back in against the holder.
One thing I found was that with every turn the rewind tool had to be turned in as well to ensure it braced against the plate, slowly but surely it did the trick and the job was done.
I'll also add that just when you think you have enough tools, the job proves you wrong; despite having trays full of spanners did I have a 15mm? course not. So out with the angle grinder and a few minutes later one of numerous 14mm became a 15mm
