I would try t cut (very abrasive) then a cleaner wax (much less so) it will make them look much better and if you use summat like zymol cleaner wax it'll have fillers to help hide scratches. This is though a cheap and dirty solution til a pro can do his magic!!!

It should help. It's an abrasive so go easy with it, but with a few light attempts it might help reduce the marks. Worth a go, just don't go too heavy on it.

Mate used to be a have his own valet company, he had a woman with the exact same problem mate, brand new black corsa sxi karate club came rounf raising money by cleaning cars, done hers with a brillo pad too!
Used a buff with G3 then down to G10 and finally a decent polish! was back to perfect mate!
Hope you get it sorted mate! Hate to see a car not at its best!

The arse bandit that previously owned my LCR must have done the same thing, I have a few "suspicious" looking scratches on the paintwork, looks like someone has been trying to remove badges or something.

I was gonna recommend that Auto glym Paint Renovator before I saw you'd, found it, it is very good stuff and should get these out eventually! You may need to give it some stick and just keep rubbing and buffing but I reckon it will get there! I've used this stuff on some nasty deep scratches so should deal with these light ones no worries! Like I say tho it does need persistantce to get it right!

Its very fine alu powder in the Autoglym, I've found you need to rub it quite hard to blend out the scratches!

I had a friend to the same to mine too, he used the rough side of one of those sponge/brillo pad combo's. He also leaned so hard on the bonnet (to do a thorough job ) that it dented. Luckilly it was on a mondeo and not my LCR

Autoglym Super Resin Polish Its come up an apsoloute treat with the stuff. It looks as good as it was before altho if you really really look closely you can see very faint scratchs. But overall i'm well chuffed with the results and will be using from now on as my main polish.

Ouch, glad to hear you have been able to resolve it.

Farecla do a decent rubbing compound which is very kind to the lacquer / paint work and doesn't cut too deep if you find any residual issues.

Just after I had picked up my last Leon I was jet washing flies off the bonnet and all of a sudden the pressure from the BP jetwash dipped and I just tapped the bonnet and knocked the paint. Drove me nuts, and in the end put my hand in my pocket and paid up as I couldn't stand it.

I guess you'll be banning brillo pads and wire wool from the house from now on!

The AutoGlym contains fillers so you might find that the scratches reappear after a while. Fingers crossed

I'll just keep using it when i clean my car from now on. It really is top notch stuff and to be honest i did'nt have to work very hard for me to get the results i have now.

The boys have had a look, and they reckon that they should mop out...they've quoted £60 to do the whole car, which'll leave it shiney as , so suggest you have a word with some of the local paint shops, and see what they will charge ya!

On a side note my lass used Mr Muscle and a green brilo on our stainless steel cooker & splash back and it left marks like that on your car, good job it was a small area but I guess not in the same league as yours though.
