Its a sunday and good day weather wise so i thought, to give the car a good wash and look over. Anyway i set about getting the car washed and i like to rinse off all the main crap first before i start shampooing. The mrs offered to help out too (bad idea). After a few minutes of starting to rinse my car down i had to go and take a call inside the house, so i left the mrs to it. There were little spots on the car that were really hard to come off apparantly so she used a green brillo pad [:@] . The result i now have a few lighter patches on my paint work that stick out like a sore thumb [:@]

Any suggestions on the best route to take to sort it out?

Thanks

Ken

Hello mate im sorry for you !!

I have used AutoGlym paint restorer before and it is hard work but it does do a very good job.

Also something that is better to use but takes longer is the Mcgwuryers 1 2 3 step paint renovation process.

hope you get it sorted mate !! ;)

Owch, yeah get rid of the missis.

The areas effected will need machined to get them back to a good finnish. Or you could use G3 & G10 manualy.

hey i did that once too... i got the car buffed by a body sprayer... cost about a tenner... for the whole bonnet... looked like new after that... i then polished it with Pink Polish... cant tell a thing now

go easy on the missus too... mistakes happen... my younger sister onces drew dolls with a stone on my black mazda... DAMN... i couldnt bare say a nasty thing to her cos she is so cute... so i left it... and sold it after a T-cut polish... buyer was happy with it too....

Dude...thats way harsh...totally feel for you.

I've heard that freshly spilt female blood has amasing paint restoration qualities.

Seriously tho, not sure that T-Cut or the 1-2-3 stuff will do a great deal, as the brillo will have taken the lacquar off & eaten into the paint...you might be lucky with coloured polish / wax, but still not gonna bring the top coat back :(

Thanks for the replys.
Not to sure what you mean by G3 & G10? It just looks like lots of little scratchs on the paint work :( Would t cuting it be worth a go?

Thanks

:( So its a specialist job then  really don't know what to do now then... Can you get paint to touch up from seat and lacquar?

I'll have a word with a mate of mine .. he's in the trade .. see what he suggests. Fairly sure you can get lacquar from Halfords, but wouldn't like to attempt to DIY it.

It might be that a coloured polish will be enough if it's machined on .. again don't DIY as you could end up burnin the paint out .. where bout's did the offence happen on the car?

Any chance of a pic to get an idea of how bad it is.
