Really bad tyre wear inside

After removing the wheels for the first time last week to change the drop links, I could see the front tyres were both completely bald on the insides. Ordered a pair of Falkens and had them fitted yesterday with the place saying the tracking must be way out and I was lucky the tyres hadn't gone while driving. Took it to have the tracking done after work today and the garage said it was perfectly fine

How could the tyres be so badly worn on the insides?

had this issue, my tracking was supposedly fine too, so i had the full laser alignment done at a specialist- costs between £40-120 depending on how much you want adjusted, i took the 'fast road setup'.

oh and you probably have worn bushes too which cause uneven tyre wear. powerflex bushes cost a tenner so you can fit them yourself following a guide on here if you wanted to

hope this helps

I was planning on doing the bushes anyway so I'll give it a go. Have you got a link to them? Can't find them as cheap as you say :D

Check that your strut top mounts aren't knackered. When these deform they change the camber of your wheels.

Had three sets on mine

Check ARB bushes too!

the ones that directly affected mine were the wishbone bushes so i'd recommend getting them first, and get full laser alignment done coz once you take the wishbones off and put them on again, it knocks the alignment out

Had a look yesterday when changing the drivers side drop link and there is a bit of wear in the wishbone bush so I'll pick up a set of them first, cheer mate.

i had same m8, inside edges down to the core almost, wishbone bushes i done, poly ones and then 4 wheel alignment, the tyres seem to be wearing ok now

http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/

will list garages with the hunter alignment system, thats the best system to get it done on. A lot of places that say they do tracking dont know what there doing.

I had 2 tyres fitted and tracking done at a local garage. Had my suspicions so took it 70 odd miles down the road to be 4 wheel aligned on the hunter the next day. The tracking was well out so much so i dont think i'd still have that pair of tyres

isn't this due to the OEM LCR negative camber + plenty of spirited driving?

Cheers mate I'll have a look. The garage I used for the tracking is a local one but the guy knows my Father and we have used him for years with no problems.

Not really done any spirited driving in it yet to be honest. Previous owner may have done though :p

could be, i'm running just over a degree neg camber. tracking is different to camber/castor adjustments though, most garages just do tracking and do it badly in my experience. 4 wheel alignment although a lot more expensive will result in much better setup
