Took delivery of my FR today and fitted my Hydraulic bonnet struts from the Russian eBay seller. Everything appears OK but the instructions suggest you cut away the foam buffers at the edge of the bonnet near the scuttle, did anyone do this? I haven’t as yet as the material is so compliant the lifters seem to make their own dent, do you think this will suffice? Will I be putting any undue strain on the lifters?

Thanks that’s what I was hoping for, have yours made their own dent in the foam?

Mine has been on for over a year and I did not cut them either.

I ordered this same kit from the Russian seller but it arrived with half of the parts missing.
Still trying to reach a solution, but do beware.
Looking at the feedback he has on eBay, I can tell I was not the first one.
I will keep you posted how the situation unfolds...

Do you have the link for these struts mate?

Read up - YMMV, but I ordered from the Russian seller and half of the kit was missing.
I am also having problems with him admitting fault and was instead instructed to file a complaint with the Finnish post office.
I would not recommend buying from him at this point...

If you check the feedback (I am refraining from posting mine from now...) in eBay, the same problem I have has happened to someone else previously.

I can see your point but his feedback is pretty good by eBay seller standards with lots of satisfied customers including me. Contact PayPal and if he doesn’t sort you out, they will refund you in full, buyer protection is very good on eBay.

So I thought, but it seems that with the separation of eBay and PayPal certain things have changed...

Well, eBay solved my problem and I got a full refund, but I am also left with 2 struts, only one mount and no screws.
Any of the missing parts (including struts) would have been replaceable but the custom fabricated mount that is missing, unfortunately, cannot.

Nightmare. Any one with any Metalwork experience should be able to make one surely?

Well, AFTER eBay refunded me, the Russian seller finally woke-up, it seems.
He has promised to send me the missing parts and I have agreed that when they do show-up, I will repay again in full.
...he asked me to pay again in full before he sent the missing parts, but I am obviously having some trust issues with him right now - I will update this thread if/when the remaining parts from the kit show up.
It is a bummer, and of course not fully happy, but I will be way happier if ultimately I get the full kit so that I can install it ;)
...might be that I was just incredibly unlucky and it goes well for all you guys.

Hi,
If you're talking about the AEngineering company - I've ordered mine from them, and got those in 8! days (which is very fast in my opinion).
Also I had a lot of questions, and the person who responded was very polite and fast in responses, no delays..
Quite a surprise.

Now here guys are talking about not cutting out a place for the struts, I am not sure I should cut those.
Actually I was talking to a friend of mine, to buy from some total loss car a pair of those foam pieces, and original ones to have stored :)

Didn't install the struts yet.
