i made a new MAF pipe using some 80mm pipe 79mm internal diameter, the standard is 80mm too but inernal diameter is about 70 mm, i know its only a few mm difference but it all helps with flow.

cut and rounded to suit new pipe

hole cut in pipe to put MAF into

Both parts stuck together

if u have increased the maf tube diameter and removed the mesh surely everythings messed up now , scaling , A/F ratio etc

just thinking out loud

Oops, sorry was looking at the wrong bit (you've too many shiney parts lol)
I do think it'l make your maf readings go a bit pear shaped tho as i thought it assumes a certain dia pipe.
Check your knock values. I thought bigger maf would equal the car thinking there was less load so it'l increase timing.

have u had the car tested with an exhaust mounted A/F meter , u could be running lean ,

no, not yet, but its all getting ready for when its custom coded,

but just thinking about it the throttle will only let in as much air as it wants/ needs ? no?

yes but that is controlled id say by the MAF and MAP sensors and ur MAF is not seeing all the air

but by changing the standard air box to a twister filter say this flows more air than standard, like what im doing?

but the MAF knows that so much much air at so much velocity equals certain fuel , u have increased the diameter of the maf housing so u have more air at probabably a faster velocity which the MAF cant see

i think or am i confused

You've got 30% more area for the air to go down. There is no way there is 30% more air going into the engine so it has to be going slower.

So you have a bit more air going slower, so the ECU sees it as less air than there is so it underfuels.

Where did you hide the passenger side ballast? I was going to put mine on the side of the battery but atm ive just tucked it into the cloth surround on the bat. As you dont have the battery in the front you must have thought of somewhere better?
I changed the sidelights for led's too as the original ones looked far too yellow in comparison.

used the bracket and mounte it just infront of the washer bottle, other side is mounted on the inside of the wing, they have to be in free air not enclosed btw as they get hot.

i hae angel eyes that came with blue bulbs that look white when on, much better than yellow
