Things to check..

Compression tes. Do it correctly tho.

State of plugs.

Oil in inlet.

Oil in pipework.

Leakdownt test.

Turbo shaft play.

Does it smoke on full beans?

Does it smoke after engine braking? Like in gear down a hil not touching the pedals then accelerate.

My ibiza has a recon ko3s on and when engine braking smokes badly, when i get to the bottom of the hill and touch the gas it puffs out loads of blue smoke but not at any other time, no one seems to know why its doing it so i just stopped engine braking. Is this major?

Dave your stalling issue may well be down to incorrect fuelling from your map which isn't set up properly for your car yet. Don't be a tart, stick with it

If it's puffing out blue smoke after engine braking that's more indicative of rings IIRC - again, compression and leak down test will help verify.

Big Daddy - do you have an oil pressure gauge to verify what it's running at? It's much more common for cars to suffer from low oil pressure than high and it won't be touching stem seals regardless. These tend to wear from excessive combustion temperatures, particularly the exhaust valves.

It's no good speculating on all these symptoms, just because 3 people have smoking and are burning oil doesn't mean it's going to be the same cause. Get testing :)

yeh i am.... doing my head in and i cant afford to cough money on guess work....[:@]

did yours do it on hot and cold?
mines only does it once it comes to tempreature 80 degress an higher....

It was when it was warm, i used to stop it by just touching the throttle to take it off idle. After testing the compression etc, if time allows might be worth buying a second hand turbo (k03) and fitting it yourself (if possible) to keep cost down and see if the problem goes away.

no its not a simple job. Its was a pain for me as i had only had a k03s on it for just under a year and then it went.

would cost more to rebuild than buy a second hand one for you, guys on hybrids, its cheaper to get it rebuilt i guess.

i got it down to a couple of hours to change when i was messing about with it

Just remember it might not be the turbo that is buggered though, just sounds very similar to the problem i had which is why i said it could be

ive taken pics of state of plugs and something aint right coverd in oil and top of pistons are coated in oil so something aint right , ive taken a few pic for other peoples view .
