Hi

I am going to give me car a good clean up again, been a good 4-5mths since the last wax.

The paintwork is in pretty good condition, so I was planning on giving car a wash with Autoglym car wash and then just waxing it with Nattys Blue paste afterwards.

What I was wondering is should I polish the car before waxing, or is this only necessary to remove lots of swirls and marks? As polish effectively removes a lil bit, surely if my paints in good nick, then I dont need to do it?

OR

What product could I use to..... almost.... put another layer onto the paint before waxing it rather than polishing it. This product would be to just cover up just small swirls or minature blemishes?

Your help is appreciated guys n girls :)

You could try to clay the car to remove any bonded contaminents,

AG super resin polish is good at filling and masking swirls, as is clearcote vanilla glaze.

Then follow up with a couple of coats of wax.

AG SRP will fill the swirls but as my other post there products are a pia and create a lot of dust. 4-5 months is a bit too long to be leaving the wax especially if you have been using Nattys as it won't last long. Only way to remove swirls is to have a full machine polish, pricey but well worth it as getting the best out of any product requires a good base to start from. If your car is swirled to hell even Zymol Solaris or Royale will make no difference.
AG SRP washes out as the wax wears off and you are back to stage one again.
