Thought I'd share my experience of ceramic coating my alloy wheels and brake callipers.

Product: Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour
Prep product: Gtechniq Panel Wipe

STEPS:

1) Jack up car and rest on jack stand (position under the pinch weld points)
2) Wash alloy wheel and brake calliper
3) Thoroughly dry wheel and brake callipers (lots of small places for water to hide). Air dry in heat first and then use thick kitchen towel for nooks and crannies.
4) Once dry apply Gtechniq Panel Wipe to remove all containments. Buff off excess product.
5) Apply Getchniq C5 Wheel Armour away from direct sunlight and leave to cure for 12 hours (preferably off the car or in a garage away from the elements).
6) Re-fit wheels. Use 140 Nm torque wrench setting.
7) Admire your efforts.

TIPS:

1) Use latex gloves to apply panel wipe and ceramic coating.
2) Use thick kitchen roll to pull out water from fiddly parts of wheel and calliper
3) Be very careful when jacking up as there isn't much room to fit a scissor jack and jack stand

The finish from the Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour is simply fantastic. Feels so silky. Let's hope it keeps the brake dust away as the whole process does take a wee while. Should making cleaning the alloy wheels much easier too. Product supposed to last up to 2 years.
