Just had this stereo fitted . Awesome . Steering wheel controls all work . Built in parrot is really good , it puts your phone book onto the stereo and all your phones calling options are done on the stereo's touch screen . All that is needed now is the speaker upgrade . Thinking of going down the Alpine route after reading the threads . Would like to hear other peoples thoughts . :funk::funk::funk::funk:

Ditto

Just fitted the exact same myself. Great stereo, loads of features, touch screen, and really clear bluetooth. Using mine with MP3's on a 16Gb card, all my music in one place

I'm not a music junky, but i did change the speakers for some 3-way pioneer ones, nothing expensive, but you can tell the difference to the sounds in the car. Much better to my crap hearing. :D

The only difficult bit is cutting down the adaptor rims, once their done it takes about 10mins a speaker.

Go for it!!!!

Great choice there mate, I have the 3100dvd, very similar stereo. I love mine :D

I'd usually recommend Infinity Kappas for the speakers, but the Alpine ones are very good too. I would recommend an amp for the speakers else you may not hear the benefit

Cheers for the replies . I made a mistake when I said Alpines , it was Infinity Kappas the guy fitted in the speaker project .I really fancy some Pioneer TS-E1702is but these are 170mm and the autolead adaptors are for 165mm so I am not sure which road to go down . Maybe some replies with what other people have done and what advice comes through . The jury is out .:confused:

Stereo looks good, was it a simple plug'n'play swap over ??
What was needed to get the steering controls to work?

I used Connects 2 Stalk interface SEAT Quadlock CAN Bus with the Stereo Patch Lead for the Pioneer.

There are two of these available, and it depends on which connector is fitted to the car, my altea had a quadlock but there is also a different one.

The Connect 2 unit replaces the ISO adaptor which then connects to a little black box, which interprets the signals seat cars send to the factory stereo. The box sends the right singles down the Stereo Patch Lead which connects to the back of the stereo.

Hope that helps :)

Been advised by my stereo supplier to go for Focal speakers with a Kicker amp . He reckons that just changing the oem speakers will only give a small improvement but doing the speakers and the amp will be a lot more beneficial . What do you guys out there think . By the way thanks for all your input . Cheers Baz .:confused:

Including an amp is definitely beneficial and a worthy purchase but...

Just replacing the OEM speakers with the Focals will make a massive difference all on their own if you dont want to increase the system build cost (running new speaker cable is a good shout too if your doing it yourself)

Well the jury has made their decision and it is deffo Focals . Now just to decide which ones and get them and the other bits required and sorted . Leaving the amp for the moment until more funds become available . :):):)

Focal 165CVX Polyglass going in very soon . These are being fitted with MDF spacer rings and some dynamat around them . Iam surprised already with the improvement in the sound already with changing the headunit . The oem speakers just cant handle it though . Cant wait for the Focals .:D:D:D

Looking forward to getting these in . The shop where I'm getting them from is waiting for delivery and I'm getting a bit impatient . Is there a big improvement over the originals even just running them of the head unit . I plan at a later date to run an amp and maybe a sub enclosure under the false boot floor . All time and money . wheels and suspension and a few other things and I will be happy . Boys and their toys eh !!:D:D:D

That's the front 165CVX Polyglass in . Sound amazing , so clear and sharp , well chuffed . Problems with the rears though . First of all one was damaged during delivery and the rears are to deep for the original hole even with the MDF spacers the grill would not go back on . The difference between the front and rear is there is metal from the door itself in the way stopping the speaker sitting as far back as the fronts . The solution suggested by the fitter is to put in the 130CVX Polyglass in being a bit shallower . pdf 14a did you change the rears and if you did were there any problems . As I said mine have gone in with MDF spacers screwed and glued and the speaker screwed onto this . There was also some dynamat put in at the rear . Wont get the rears fitted until sometime next week . :D:D:D
