Finally picked up the head unit today :) just waiting for all the relevant stuff to arrive for me to fit it :) does anyone know how to bypass the hand brake cable thingy on pioneer head units??

I decided to take the old head unit out so I can start wiring in bits and pieces like the mic that came with the unit. When I reconnected the head unit it said I needed to put a code in. I have a quick look through the manual and put the code I thought it was in but it wasn't the right one lol. Tried another code and it locked the head unit :( I called the local seat dealer and they said it would cost me £35 to reset it :( I then remembered my dad had a cheap code reader thing. Plugged that in, nothing came up but now the head unit is working again lol. Happy days!!!!

The same thing happened to me, I couldn't find the code anywhere and I began to panic thinking I'm gonna lock it, turned out all that was needed was a turn of the key :D

your radio wont work without the blue wire connected as i found this out, be careful when fitting it as they isnt much play and you can pull the cable out of the connector that connects to the car aerial.

this blue wire goes into the spare hole thats in the block that you connect together, hard to explain but basically you will notice all of the cables connect to pins in the connect other than a couple and one being blue on this wire you will see the words aerial ant or aerial antenna, so this spare blue wire needs connecting to it,

again be careful because once the cable is in the block it locks and i couldnt get it out, it was easier for me to remove the cable from the loom and slide them together separate and then wrap with elecy tape to secure that way more give to it.

hope that helps will help more if needed
