So - my trusted Seat Leon 280 has gone after 7 yeards of ownership. I have to say that i have enjoyed every moment of it. only the water pump letting go this year was an issue.
I was looking at other brands - including BMW M2, Audi S3/RS3 Saloon Audi TTS/TTRS. but somehow i ended up with a Cupra Formentor. Logic dictated its selection. Its the only vehicle in my list that is capable of legitametly installing a tow bar.
Welcome to my midnight black VZ32
Why i towbar i hear you scream... well its so much more easier to put a bike rack to hold 4 x adult bikes on the back than it is to put it on the roof. 3 years of putting bike on the roof of the Leon has been hard, but worthwhile. i was going to keep the Leon for bikes - but i don't really need 2 x cars.
I had the dealer fit the retractable towbar - and it was worth it in my opinion. It it completlety untedectable when retracted.
Sound system is a bit meh! i didn't get Beats as it wasn't available, car was pre built - but i did want a sunoof.
so next project is speakers, amp/DSP and a sub - all aftermarket - and not beats.
Soem time ago we on cupranet had a deal to have specially made SeatCupra.net number plates. They are on there as well! looks good too!
There are a few issues to say, i think the Formentor has loads especially with brakes.
Can't argue with that.
Once i have run it in - i will think about the Racingline Power Control Module - PCM, the standalone chip. Once i am ready for OEM+ stage 1 which i had on my Leon, its free.
In effect, its like having the power of the ABT in a Standard looking VZ3.
I will create a readers ride.

There are a few issues to say, i think the Formentor has loads especially with brakes.
- Squealing front brake pads under light braking. May require more copper grease on pad housings
- Bearing / rubbing noises coming from mid rear
- Feeling that Rear right nearside calliper is binding whilst driving
- Scan of ODB port shows that there are some 3 x unclearable errors due to possible installation of towbar. One error is unidentified device. I believe second error is due to the first. Third error is a brake boost module error – could be safety critical!
Can't argue with that.
