Just fitted Philips Xtreme Power in mine, and they were noticeably brighter than the Philips 50% I took out. Took me longer to get them out of the packaging than it did to fit them!

Actually, the front headlights are very limited in space and actually HID is the only REAL difference.

PHILIPS is one of the best, better than OSRAM. I had the 50% exta (Bullshit to an extenet) and now the Blue vision is adequate.

I had phillips Blue vision 50% extra bulbs in my high beam, and although they were better than the bulbs from the factory, once the HID kit was fitted, the blue vision bulbs were barely noticable. I recently changed them to Osram Night breakers, and the difference is immense. They totally dumb down the HID kit now and add more distance and height to the light beam. They can dazzle you if you happen to pass a big road sign and flick them on
Very good bulbs, i'd buy some more tomorrow if my current bulbs blow.

I didnt get it clear, Osram night breaker is better than an HID?

Not better than HID (HID have a brighter light and look nicer both in the car, and from outside the car as they aren't yellow) but better than phillips blue vision when used with HID's.
HID + Phillips + very little extra light on full beam
HID + Osram NB + Far more light on high beam (and less yellow too).
Hope that makes more sense?

I fitted the Phillips bluevision and was very impressed. They gave much better road illumination. They give off a very white light so do actually look like Xenon lights.

Cost £50 for the 2 H7 and H1 bulbs plus the sidelights which are free with the H7's

Another vote here for Philips Blue Vision. Much clearer view than standard bulbs and on my Imperial Blue Leon the very slight blue tint looks nice. Can't say I noticed any difference in spread or distance though, (didn't do a side-by-side comparison), but they certainly aren't any worse than standard.

I replaced the Mains and Dips and got the free sides from here:

No probs with delivery.

edited to add - All those who buy +10%/+50%/+80% bulbs and are disapointed I would just say...

How do you know what to expect? Do you really know the difference between a 50 or 80% brighter bulb?? Without specialised measureing equipment (light it measured in candelas not watts btw) you are just guessing about how bright the bulb should or shouldn't be.

Remember also, they are MARKETING CLAIMS.. to be treated with a pinch of salt. You sure as hell aren't going to be able to get your money back claiming the "50% brighter" bulb you bought was only actually 40% brighter for example.

I have the Vision plus and find them very good. Never had a bulb blow yet. Seem to last a very long time.

I have actually tried the phillips bulbs etc and was not impressed

I got the bright bulbs from Halfords (cant remember which ones exactly but on the packaging they have **for off road use only**) but no one would ever know

they give a very bright white light, almost xenon like and give excellent vision when driving - they are a good alternative to HID's

they are £16 a bulb so not exactly cheap...i suggest trying those as I have always used them and have been very impressed

I have a set of Osram Night breakers in SWMBOs vRS and they are excellent. Yellowish light near the car but at the extremes of the beams they provide a nice whitish light for road signs and stuff, making them easier to read.

Huge improvement aren't they?
I'd put some in the G/F's 206 if the lights were accessable without a bag of tools :headhurt:

Price she pays for owning a french car

Well not sure what was in there as I changed the bulbs as soon as we picked the car up in November. Still light is far superior to her Ka with +50 Philips bulbs in.

Once I have been paid I might pick a pair up for main beams on both cars
