its not hard. all you do once you have removed the old bumper is fit the new guide profiles and then refit the new bumper, straight forward stuff. did front bumper (lcr), rear bumper (my03 cupra) sideskirts (lcr&my03 are the same) and rubstrips all in one day. oh, and the wheels. started about 10/11am and finished by early evening :)

Any-1 can do it mate...Because its a seat part..its a direct bolt on fitment. Its impossible to get wrong.

Unlikely mate...only way to get a set really, is either of a side write off..which cum up on ebay sumtimes..Or from seat. They have copies on ebay, but they are fibre glass..and best avoided.

Last time i checked, the bumper is about £275...but not sure if thats including VAT...plus, ul want the grilles, profiles ect for it to fit.

It's already been said, but it's the front bumper that makes the R look much better imo (the wheels too actually).

If you take a butchers at Copra's car, it looks the nuts cos of the bumper and the wheels - much better than the standard pre-facelift wheels. And with the Cupra rear bumper (better than R rear bumper imo, and which has already been said), Copra's got a great looking car - the colour ain't my thing tbh, but damn it's unique ;)

But hey, I'm a cupra owner so I'm biased :p

its true, it is only the bumpers and wheels, lets face it, they are the only things that change between models. i think its amazing how different they make the car look though!!
i know what you mean with the colour. TBH its the reason i went for it. another black car, another blue car, another red car.....humm, copper bronze is kinda "different" :)
thanks for your complements though!

I'm sorry, but a remapped Cupra is at best equal to a standard R, performance wise. Plus the Cupra has poor brakes, poor intercoolers, poor suspension and doesn't look half as good in comparison to an R. There is ALOT of difference between the Cupra and R, and you make your choice.

Remapped Cupra versus stock cupra R - hands down the cupra wins - more power, less weight (been there done that). Remapped R destroys it (at the top end in particular) no shocker. Both cars suffer from heatsoak due to side intercoolers - R has an extra one on the other side but it's all relative - a mapped R pushes higher boost, equals more heat to dispose of. Swings and roundabouts. Std Cupra brakes are fine (once you change the pads) and part of me wishes i'd stuck with them (i've got LCR brembos) and saved money.. Cupra suspension varies - my car had horrible 'bouncy bouncy' suspension but other cars from same year didn't. LCR has a better stock setup but it's still not very good (hence why lots of owners change it) with far too much body roll. On both cars i'd change the shocks at a minimum, add anti roll bars to finish the job. MY03 cupras look great (well mine does anyway) with the only thing making the R look better being the 18"s.
Personal preference n'all that but i went through a few drives of the LCR when new to see whether it was enough of a better car to justify the expense (purchase, higher insurance, worse mpg) and wasn't impressed enough to make the change. In short i'm happier with all the toys on mine and driving an 75bhp Audi 80 makes 240bhp in a Cupra feel stupidly fast.
If mine got written off tomorrow i'd probably go for a FR TDI (mk 1) as it's a better all rounder than both the FR 20VT/LC and the LCR in terms of performance and running costs.
