Hi All,

I purchased a new Cupra Leon last October. It's the new 2025 model plug in hybrid. 272BHP.

Can anyone tell me any experiences they've had... mines been nothing but trouble.

Just a short list of problems...
-Keyless entry seems to be intermittent in working.
- Radio will come on even if not even in the car.
- Car can't be selected out of hybrid mode and says the battery hasn't enough charge although 80% full.
- Buttons I've changed to personalise revert back to factory settings.
- Occasionally to access the climate control screen it states the air con must be on, however you can't access the screen to turn it on because of this message, meaning you are just in a loop.
- 2 times the smaller 12v battery has lost charge and left me stranded having to call the AA.
- Today seemed to want to stall when the engine was running in slow traffic. Revs dropping to 600 ish.

Please any experiences you have please let me know

Hi sorry to hear you've had all these issues. I've had a couple of similar.

I've had keyless issues finding one key was better than the other. I've yet to try putting a new battery in. Personally, I've stopped using it as I think it drained the battery.

Yes, I've had a flat battery, too and had to have the VW tech come out to charge it. Luckily, I was at home and not stranded.

With all the issues you've had, I'd be taking it back to the dealer to fix if you've not already.

Cheers,

Scott

Both my Cupra Leon’s have suffered intermittent keyless entry. I’ve given up bothering, but it is annoying when you’re carrying bags etc and the boot will not open without the key!

An update...

Scott - Been back to the dealership 3/4 times saying it wasn't right and the mechanic said software is upto date and that's the best we can do, good bye! Then 12v battery proceed to go flat on 3 occasions after that.

Drove to the dealer some 35 miles with around 30% battery and I could switch from hybrid to pure electric with no message coming on the screen since AA man took a look. Maybe he reset something?

I went into the dealer and went into the new car sales office. Luckily an area manager sitting in there who's offered to supply me with a new car for an extra £35 quid a month payment.
Although I probably feel it should be the same payment, at least I'll be out of the car fingers crossed. Hopefully this one was not made on a Friday afternoon!

Heard nothing back from the service department although the cars now been with them 3 working days. In all honesty I don't think they'll even try and fix it now, probably just chuck it on the forecourt and wait for someone else to buy it and hope they don't notice.

I'll keep you posted if the new ones any different.

Let's hope this is the end however I'm not totally convinced
