If I never hear the two words "Pedal" and "Box" in the same sentence again it will be too soon! Just finished putting my new box in, Big thanks to Alpine Whites top guide it was invaluable and as he says this job is nothing to be scared of doing yourself, just make sure you have these few essential tools before you start :
Ratchet and long extension bar
24mm socket (Steering Wheel)
13mm socket (Pedal box and Steering column bolts)
11mm socket (Shear bolts)
Flat head and Phillips drivers
13mm spanner
Long nosed pliers (helps to get the retaining clips off the pivot bar)
Dremel type tool (for removal of shear bolts, like AW says its a pain trying to chisel them)
I also found these 2 bits useful,
A workshop type strong light, its dark down there and a light really helps.
One of those magnets on a telescopic handle, trust me you will drop a bolt or two!
I gave myself 2 full days to do this but in the end only needed 5 hours Saturday and 4 hours Sunday, I kept my PC on in the house with AW`s guide to hand and had to keep nipping in to refer to it. Anyway its done now and my creaking clutch is but a distant bad memory.
Cheers to Alpine White for his DIY guide, and to Mrs Toonfiend for a steady supply of brews through the kitchen window.....
