Just clean/degrease them, apply primer depending on what color or finished you want, let them dry, then spray them, mine took about 4 coats to get a nice finish, I also lacquered them but this is not totally needed if u use a gloss finsh spray paint.

Just give it a go, whats the worst that can happen.

paint covers

clean them use High Heat Primer and High Heat Engine Paint

at least 2 coats of primer done within one hour of each other

wait around 3 hours and use High heat paint at least 12 inches away

evenly swipe back and forth 1st coat 2nd coat and a 3rd coat

it will not run and look great

you dont need to use heat resistant paint just make sure you use plastic primer or make sure you can use the paint directly on plastic

dont under stand:confused:

say something did go wrong thermostat or anything to make the engine bay HOT then

the normal paint would go and could make things worse ....... So, if you go a little more like

2 pounds of cost for high heat paint vs regular paint then error on the side of caution.

true but i woudnt worry about some plastic covers if you got it that hot. it takes a lot to bubble or discolor paint

i have painted all sorts cam covers, engine blocks even a cold side of a turbo n never had a problem

no saying dont do it just i dont think its needed and normaly the colors are a bit boring and drab

If normal paint would be a problem then SEAT would not have sprayed the engine bay themselves, but for the sake of it, if you are putting down primer its as easy pick up the high heat one as the standard one.

No problem. it is more me as what can go wrong it does with me....LOL....

I look at these engine bays and both the TT MK1 and SEAT MK1 are so close to each other

I wanted to learn more about them for me and what I make as in the Yellow engine cover

the TT would be a 180 hp with a K03 turbo everything is almost the same main difference is windshield washer bottle.... L8R...

also never used high temp paint and mine being done 3 year make sure you use plastic primer not the nomal primer and you will get a better finish and it will help bind the paint better. i would also use clear laqure so harden the paint. what ever you do dont rush it.
