what!!!! i just been trying to fit the 03 reg polo side repeaters that fell off a car in the scrappy, and they dont fit.
done a search looks like i ant the only one.

basically then lenses will fit but the bulb holder on the ibiza is too bit to fit inside the lens. Iv now got black side repeators and had to re wire it with peoples help from here, i had to bodge one side thou as there was not enough wire to work with. If you don't get what i mean the thread i did will be on here somewhere i took lots of pics.

as aimez has said if the bulb holder doesnt fit in the lens then you need to cut the twowires and join to the new side repeater :)

ive got loads of spare side repeaters with the chrome cap if any1s interested THE SHOP IS NOW OPEN

Rashcupra, do you still have any of these early Mk4 side repeaters left?

If not, then I'm sure I'll be able to pick them up from somewhere. Assume they are a direct replacement for the later Mk4 ones with clear bulb/orange bulb cover.

ive got 5 here at home but they are all the same and off all sorts of vag cars

Right, back to this again. I got my side repeaters off 'rashcupra' and fitted them tonight.:)

If the bulb holder doesn't fit the lens, a simple compromise is to get a junior hacksaw and cut down from the top of the lens so there are two nicks. This does enough to enable the bulb holder to be forced into the lens. It's a good, tight fit and won't come off.

Next wrap the bulb holder and lens with electrician's tape to seal the two bits. Then refit. No cutting wires, etc.

As it happens I have fitted chrome bulbs in place of the clear ones. Find them a bit dimmer than the orange ones, but I didn't have any orange ones lying around.

So if you ever want to, unwrap the tape and refit the other (orangy) side repeaters. No damage done!

Seemed to be a bit shorter on the passenger side on mine.

I'll take back what I said about the chrome bulbs being dimmer. Took the orange ones out of my other car and no difference really - except you can see the orange bulbs, so put the chrome ones back in.
