If you go to ANY dealer you will pay at least DOUBLE the price [:@]

If you cant do it yourself try Jbs/Awesome/Big Boys or someone like that ;)

They use Seat parts so the warranty is not affected :)

I drove 200 miles & stayed overnight in a B&B and it was still CHEAPER than a dealer service

warranty means piss all, they will try to screw you over at any cost, well they did me,(before modded) 20 k service will be oil change and a top up of fluids, maybe a filter change, would you pay 300 sheets for that, ???? just buy good oil get a garage to do it and keep the reciept in a book, when you sell it you can see its been done, also the oil etc will be better than the shite seat put in.

Those prices do sound expensive. I had my annual inspection, 20,000 service and brake fluid change done by Robinsons SEAT, Lowestoft this month for £228.44. They also sorted out a faulty fuel gauge under warranty at the same time and lent me a brand new Ibiza courtesy car. Doesn't sound a bad deal now.:)

its a little bit more than that, and it takes time. Time = money

oil and pollen filter change
check electrical equipment
check airbag damage
interrogate fault memory
check for leaks / damage on brakes, exhaust, engine
check for belt wear
check steering
check brake wear

fair enough keeping the receipts for when you sell it, but when you want to claim on your warranty seat wont do it because it hasn't been serviced by a dealer!

So are you saying if I take mine to Jabba Sport, seat will be happy with this with regards to the warranty?

If it's serviced in line with SEAT's recommendations, and using SEAT parts you will keep your warrantee - it's called "block exemption"

As Mork said you can take your car to any garage as long as they use Seat parts your warrenty is OK

oh right, i didnt realise that. I thought that if there was anything other than a SEAT stamp in the service book they wont honour the warranty.

But when seat look at the book how will they know that seat parts were used?

this could save me alot of money on services;)

Either buy the parts needed from a Seat dealer yourself and get the garage to just fit them for you or make sure the garage gives you a bill with the Seat part numbers written on it for the parts used.

Err, as I said in my post it was Robinsons in Lowestoft, Suffolk at the beginning of this month. They are one of only three SEAT dealers in Norfolk and Suffolk but fortunately only about 7 miles away from me. I have been very pleased with their service so far and they always volunteer a courtesy car without me having to ask. I did buy my Ibiza from them though which might help.

They did my annual 10,000 mile service last year for about £130.:)

The stealers will try and tell you you have to use a SEAT Franchise or it will invalidate the warranty. Ignore them as what they are saying is now illegal, as new competition regulations mean they cannot invalidate it if you take it somewhere else (as previously was the case.)

They have to prove otherwise.... normally by showing you the unipart oil filter stuck on the engine....

even then I think they'd struggle to claim a SEAT one was better.
