Fitted my new egr gasket today and i must say I seem to notice the engine more responsive and smoother in power.

Lol.

Even if no one sees any difference in this gasket, the restriction will stop the egr valve from clogging up quicker thus prolonging the life of the EGR valve.

Just out of interest, how big is the hole in the gasket? I made my own so no idea if it is bigger or smaller than these

luckily enough i have a spare just measured... 9mm instead of 32mm from the original one.

I have also fitted the egr gasket and have immediately noticed a much much smoother take off from stationary and, when driving normally, a noticeable increase in general smoothness of the Engine / Transmission. Fuel consumption appears to be unchanged at about 45/46 mpg as shown on the display

Wow,what a difference! I can drive smooth at 1500 rpm again without stuttering up the road! Best £2 ever spent

it would work yes but a lot of catch cans are not designed in filtering particals out and are more like just an empty can.

the shiny chrome pipe about 1" diameter that comes off to the right perpindicular of the EGR at the front of the engine. 2 hex bolts secure it. You need to use a bit of force to flex it out of the way.

i posted the link to it in an earlier post. AFAIK that's the PD170 inlet but very similar tot he PD140 BKD engine.
