Octavia RS better than Cupra!

Yes I read the 29% figure for residuals on the RS, don't believe it, I think it will be treated differently to the other octavia models, mainly due to the positive press. personally I would go for one of the 4x4 models myself.

One positive thing about the MY2002 cupra looking so normal is that when you are dating (as I am right now having left the previous girlfriend) is that a lots of girlies don't like fast cars, they associate them with thugs/idiots. So In such cases you just pull up in your cupra, they usually say how nice the car looks, then just drive like a grandad. If they like speed then just demonstrate the cars abilities. It opens up a whole new group of totty that otherwise may have been lost.

You wanna meet mine .. (well not literally ) she loves taking mine and ragging it away from the "boom boom" boys when she is picking me up from the pub.

3 pis*ed lads in the car and a 5 foot girlie driver all waving at the saxo in the mirror .... REALLY pis*es them off I can tell you.

My Octavia VRS was a bag of nails compared to my mk1 leon TDi. Gearbox is a common problem, bodywork is woeful and the paint was wafer thin.

Might be an old thread but ill chip in,i had an octavia rs and theres nothing wrong with them,too many snobs slate them just coz theyre a skoda the only reason i switched to an LCR is because the LCR was the car i wanted in the first place but couldnt afford it right away and yes i think the LCR is way way better than the octy but theres still nothing wrong with the octy rs.

my VRS was a bloody nightmare.EVERY MOT cost me in excess of 500 quid.when it was running though,brilliant motor

Mines failed 1 MOT and was only for a split cv boot,had a few niggles here and there but never anything serious or expensive infact my biggest series of problems was after i got it remapped and it blew a few coils then trying to sort out the hesitation. Something i did HATE about the car was that bloody white interior,nightmare to clean and keep clean but other than that no comlaints!
