Yes, the setting in the menu is there and active by default. Maybe there was some glitch at the time when I tried it and it didn't work. Now it seems to be working fine without any changes..

On another topic, I have another issue in mind, since I recently drove behind a fellow formentor at a stop light, one evening. I noticed how bright the brake lights are and how annoying it must be for people behind.

Is there any way of reducing the brightness of the brake lights when auto hold is active? Or stop it altogether. I remember that previously, cars did not turn on the brake lights when fully stopped with auto hold active, at least with VAG cars.

If it's LED you won't be able to alter the brightness. The filament ones you could. Pass on the stop light. I did at one stage tell people the wrong thing on the Ateca. It's a two person task to check autohold and that light. If you open the door to check it turns it off. You need to drop the window and get a second person to check. My mistake with the Ateca behaviour. In the past I concluded atleast for the Ateca you could not change the behaviour.

Yes, brake lights are 100% on, with auto hold, on the Formentor.
It's easy to check at night, since everything lights up red behind 🫠

The only time the brake lights are off, when stationary, is when gearbox is in P aka engaging the electronic parking break and foot off the brake, obviously.

I'm quite conscious of the brake lights now and I imagine many people don't even know this is the case. Most believe the driver is depressing the brake pedal.

To me it's such a weird setting and doesn't really make sense, especially since there is no option otherwise.

I know there was some brightness value setting through long coding on the fog lights.. I was hoping on a similar setting for the "auto hold brake light" value :)

I've stopped worrying about dazzling people behind. It does depend on how bright those lights are.

Well they are looking for volume sales. If people want to buy it more fool them as they say. Obdeleven is good at marketing.
Not sure about that. Was reading an old thread on the obdeleven forum recently.
It was discussing changes the company had made to the app. Such as removing the 200 points for signing up for an account (falsely claiming it was only ever a limited time offer}, free points for watching ads. It also mentioned how Voltas have tried different methods since then to try & boost sales.
One poster was able to point out how the move had hit profits.
I certainly wish I had read all that before buying the dongle. Even if you buy the pro sub you still have to pay for using 1 click apps.

Really most of the mods you do in the first one or two years then you could drop the Pro license if you wish. The one click apps are really to challenge the other one click dongles. The good thing about obdeleven is you can use it either way. The pro you do know what the coding is. One click apps may not be fully tested. They are crowd sourced now by people that buy all the bells and whistles one click app development tool. The problem is if not fully tested they may not work. The drop mirror, heated seat one on Leon 3 is a case in point. The app won't go, ah you have got memory seats so I'll do this rather than that. I hate macros in spreadsheets so why I hate one click apps 🤣. Don't like black box approaches, want to see what it does.

Turned off Lane Assist last week, couldn't believe how different the car felt to drive, and showed how intrusive the lane assist actually was.

It was great to not have the car try and veer towards a traffic island when cycle lanes lines suddenly appear at side of the road! :D

Hi all, does anyone know if the 204 v2 hybrid can be coded? If so, is it possible to code cupra mode?
Ordered a 204 6 weeks back thinking it had both modes…. Pffffft

Anyone know if it makes a difference scanned with just ignition on, or engine running?

Every time I scan it throws up numerous fault codes, 38 on a scan not long ago with ignition on, started engine then scanned again, 0 faults found.

Based on your test I'd say it does. I get a lot of intermittent errors when scanning mostly databus missing message. May try with engine on and see if they are then gone. Makes sense as probably communications are completed when the engine has started.

I should have added historically the Formentor generates many more apparent faults on the scan. That was first found. Cupra may have sorted that out or it may still produce the same number. On the Ateca I get to know what they are and can discard. You can clear them all and see what comes back although you loose your historic record if you do that. Impression I get is with the Formentor they turn up much more often. See what other people say. It may have stabilised in terms of faults that apparently appear. The intermittent ones.

Hi I just turned on cornering headlights with the fogs on obd11 but it hasn’t worked do I need to access it via my menus or should it automatically just work when cornering. Formentor 1.5 v2.

Just for the record, to help anyone else out, as this thread has become rather long. And this is for hybrid people, not petrol-only people, but I've successfully enabled the "engine power + torque" display (two little % dials on the left side of the dash) on my Cupra Leon e-Hybrid 245 (I know this is a Formentor thread, but there is no OBDeleven sticky for Cupra Leon, and they are very similar cars).

Sadly the "torque" display stays at "0" all the time, whether in pure-EV mode or in hybrid mode. But the "engine power" dial does work in both EV mode and hybrid mode. Bit of a gimmick, I know, as it doesn't seem to relate to the tachometer, but it's nice to have the option of it being there.

As others have said, when coding for a hybrid vehicle, it seems like you need to have the bonnet (hood) unlatched, the door open and the car plugged in (on charge).

Fine to cross fertiliser. People pick things up on a Google. Most of the Ateca ones I got from the Tiguan II apart from specific ones to kit installed with assistance from others with Atecas searching for the non standard ones at the time.

MQB EVO ones for the Formentor and variations on the theme across VAG models on that platform.
