Hi Everyone,

I have been having a play with OBDeleven with my car (FR First Edition) and have managed to code some things and thought Id share what I have found and create a thread where people can share there findings for us all.

I have managed to code:
Cupra Display
Lane Assist Point Of Intervention (Have yet to test, but should keep the car more central rather then let it almost drift out of lane before kicking in)
Lane Assist Set To Last Setting
Lane Assist Warnings Turned Off


I know a lot of people find lane assist is already to sensitive (its already set to lowest from factory), so I might have found a solution to this too. So you can turn it off and it will remember this setting each time the car is turned on etc, so now you can make it sensitive for the motorway and only turn it on when you want it.


Cupra Display:
Module 17 (Dashboard) -> Long Coding -> View Activation -> Set All 16 Views to active -> Write To Car

So obdeleven arrived today .
2 scans and 5 fault codes for ABS, Brakes, Airbags , Read headlight and for the infotainment , not bad at all

Tomy i cannot find the View Activation sub menu in Long Coding , any ideas ?

I had the same issue with the view activation, contrary to what others have posted It wasn’t in long coding but under the ‘adaptations‘ menu instead.

Adaptions is a good menu. They are the routine things brought out with text around them.

The long coding 0-1 toggle (top right of long coding screen) also parses the long code string into text toggles. Another useful trick if people say it's in the long string but give byte positions that's toggling to 1, 0 is with it parsed to text.

Suspect the apps that Obdeleven make their money on from people frightened of "coding" are just macros running the Adaptions. Then when people post up they have bought a second hand car and something isn't programmed correctly either a human screw up or a duff app macro run on the car by the previous registered keeper. Either Obdeleven micro payment apps that haven't been tested on the model or competitor dongles that are design for give quick fixes but don't involve "coding". Always better to buy the full version of Obdeleven with the prigramming (Pro license) or other VCDS programming tools rather than the micro payment app based ones where you can't get at what's happening.

Indeed it is under the adaptations I have found it yesterday night.
It's a pitty though that for a reason it didn't work. I had activated all the views but nothing changed

Did you do the long press on the button down the bottom and it says "adaption accepted" or words to that effect supplying the 5 digit security code ?. If it gives an error then that adaption hasn't been accepted. The history log should also show the adaption going thru.

Checking source material (I don't have the Leon 4) the thread in Spanish where The Old boy formerly from this parish I believe is getting quite long with Leon 4 coding. The one I referenced before.

That was the original purpose of the thread. It's the normal thing with a new model searching which Vag standard mods work, new components where mods aren't published widely. Google translate on the German that some times appears on the Adaptations menu in Obdeleven is another tool if you dont read German on the tricky ones (screen shot, Google translate and rub - worked for me on the Ateca mods ?). Best to not reinvent the wheel. Ofcourse you have SFD that limits what you can mod. Hence why its better to check what people have done ?. Hands up who wants to write a resource once the mods have been identified. That's then linked to the thread as the definitive guide.

Yes I saw that the adaptation had been accepted, I have found the changes in the history also. I saw the changes that can be done in the obdeleven forum , a guy replied to me that I have to press the view button in order to change the view bit I couldn’t find this option. I I’ll try later again and I’ll keep you posted

You have to press the ok button next to the view button on the steering wheel.
I am not sure if it is a bonnet up mod as i first did it with the bonnet up , then i closed it , reverted and did it again as i couldn't see the changes.
Also i had 17 errors on the infotainment (don't know why ) so i had to clear them in order to apply the views.

Radar in the panels, radar in front ... they have the latter via collision assist but I have noticed other people suggesting ACC is unbundled, TSR uses the lane assist camera, high beam etc. TSR you could turn on pre 2020 if you had lane assist. With SFD, not sure, that's where you have the list of modules locked down and those not, anything that crosses into them then you can't. Possibly why SFD was brought in to make the luxury items built in but software controlled, cheaper to make that way. The value of the package defined by what you want to pay for it rather than the cost to make ?. Bundled and unbundled costs to the user.

Cheers, I was guessing blind spot detection wouldn't be simple switch. Good to hear TSR and headlight detection may be doable. For ACC I was hoping as my car has front assistant, the multifunction camera and lane assistant, it would be just a switch too

But not if SFD locked down one of the modules that had to be modded. Post 65 here contains the standard mod for TSR for pre 2020

I had a feeling that the touch was equivalent to the keyfod button press but having Kessy I can't test. These variations in VAG models just give distance in the brands but twigging VCDS coding you get back to the same... but don't say it too loud since Seat is suppose to be the discount brand...

That goes into the A5 control unit, 5F infotainment unit, 17 Dash board. The 5F unit atleast is protected by SFD so that would be no dice. It the dashboard where people have been changing things.

Where the car hasn't got the hardware fitted, you have to be triple sure that if you embark on a project it's not more than fitting missing components. People found that out with the motorised tailgate of the pre 2020 Ateca that needed more than VCDS to get it working, SFD now cuts across the standard VCDS mods rendering some of them useless.

I reckon it might be what is called Scandinavian lighting. It was a requirement for them to work like that in that region then rolled out across the EU. Going to be around those options on Obdeleven / VCDS. The Ateca does that, why I had a lunatic when I had had it brand new trying to tell me my lights were on. Was more unusual a few years back.

I did find a couple of posts but since you guys had the car... I left it. Seemed to be two options. One worked and one didn't as has as pre facelifted models. The other method required a bit more coding.

That video is using the micro payment apps... you can find the coding online. Also in the Leon 3 thread in 2017... people saying they have done it. Just needs reading. That is preface lifted.

Hi New on here. Does anyone know if the rear side lights can be set to be on with the front drl lights? I know it can be done on the pre facelift mk3. Any chance of an "App"?

Sure you haven't already got it on a Leon 4 ?.... thought it was on the Leon 3 thread ?. Then the question is it locked down by SFD from mods.

I can't believe that Leon 4s don't come with it already enabled unless Seat UK went retro on this or there was other thinking that rear lights on during the day wasn't required across all of Europe so they fell out of vogue.

Bonnet up ofcourse. That unit is still locked down with SFD. Steima dongle 120+ Euros was said to do it on the German board. Q4 for SFD is said for Obdeleven, probably a wait and see. They have this message:

Short update regarding SFD implementation: To meet the high standard requirements of Volkswagen AG the SFD implementation may take until the 4th Quarter of 2021.

The link "Information regarding..." above is most you can do at the minute till SFD is mastered. The lights fall into electronics so are not possible. SFD knocks out those mods that cross into those control units which are locked down.
