Just starting a Thread for OBD11 to show good places to get code, info and video's that can help you make your car better. Please dont post code here, each model has its own thread for VCDS and OBD11 Type coding and that is where it belongs. This thread is to help find information.

Couple points to note before I go further.

VAG make changes to the underlying code and as a result for Leon Pre and Post facelfit MK3's do not always have the same setup, this will also be more obvious as the Digital Dash starts to roll out.

With the facelift cars VAG removed the long coding section from Central Elec control unit 09 all switches were moved into adaptions.

As soon as you get your car or OBD11 Dongle please ensure you take a backup of all the control units this will save your life when something goes badly wrong and you cant work out what you did.

Seen this following questions a few times now so just putting answers to them here as well.

Q What happens to my Pro Account when I want to use more than one device.

A You can connect more than one device (I have used 4) all using the same log in details

A Nothing you download the app to new phone and log in using your original details and the history of all your changes (which are stored on OBD11 Servers will be shown to you. Please note when you first connect to your dongle you set a 6 digit passcode you will need to use that when you first connect with your new phone.

Q Why can't I use my pro account activation code again

A The activation code is a one time code, if you have forgotten your log in details contact OBD11 Support via the app.

A Nope and don't expect it to any time soon, like vcds (Windows only) its an android app. You can run Android on a mac using the rights setup but its easier to just go buy a cheap android devise.

A Yes, left swipe and the car is gone from your garage. HOWEVER it does not go from your account if you re instate the car all the history you have will come back. But please note your account only saves the stuff you have done so if you sell the car your history stays with you and new owner does not see it. Visa versa if the new owner makes changes you wont see them.

Q What is the difference between the long Coding with 0 and 1

A The long coding items you see on the first page of long coding (0) are all short cuts that OBD11 Team have put together, when you make a change using one of these you will notice your long coding code will change because it has been updated as well.

A Two obvious reasons, firstly using long coding 0 as above may show things in you long code string and secondly there are some changes made via the infotainment systems that make changs to the cars settings and are therefore shown as a change.

Just adding in to this section stuff that i have found helpful when building pages of shared info.

So using OBD11 You can take a picture of for example all your Live Data options.
Using the following link it will show you how to upload the picture to your google drive (which is free) and then using google software (also free) it can extract all the text from the picture. Free and Easy OCR software to extract the data you want.

Following the excel spreadsheet I can't find car function adaption gen 2 and so on under adaptions.

Just deleted app data. Low an behold it all worked fine for a minute whilst looking though engine data an then its done it again

np, ok Just check what version you are on (its under About in the main menu) , if its 0.9.8.6 Then leave a post here http://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/5225/9-8-6-beta-channel explaining your problem and the devs can hopefully fix it.

If you are not on 0.9.8.6 then sign up to the beta version http://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/463/registration and see if the latest version fixes the issues

And just on a very boring point make sure you have good internet connection.

After recent update my OBDEleven Device stopped working. There was notification that device is not original or authorized. I have proof that it is original so I wrote to developer about it but he says that I have no longer warranty and I should buy new device. He also refused to share previous version of app to check if it is device issue or app update issue. Forcing clients to buy new device by app update is fraudulent practice. There wasn't any information that after warranty period you have to buy new device if you want still use it. If your device stopped working after app update you probably were scammed. You should write about it to European Consumer Centers Network and report it to Google play store.

Is it legal to force to buy new device like that?

Well I have had many updates and not seen Device not authorized however what i have always been told on the OBD11 Forums is to contract support because it appears to be a hardware problem. If you are in the closed testing group then you can leave that and revert to the old version and download that from playstore however they only run one version of the software so its not they wont share, they cant share.

If its a hardware problem then I am afraid if you have (like me) had the device for a number of years then you wont get much out of them (or any other manufacturer for that matter).

There should be a number of old dongles coming up for sale as people migrate to the new dongle.

I am afraid you biggest issue is proving the software update caused the failure (when many other users dont have the problem).

It does not help you I know but if you go to any of the places you suggest then I am afraid these are what they will be looking at.
