Yes, they can be terrible. It's the same with bearings. Japanese ones, not a problem but we wouldn't touch Chinese or Eastern Block bearings as they wore out as soon as you turned your back. It's a wonder Russian stuff works at all.That's the worry of Chinese cars whether they have the soft metal screws on them. Twisted quite a few heads off Chinese screws in the past.
