Hi New formentor getting delivered tomorrow, quick question i always put new plates on all my cars, hate the dealer advertising crap they put on.as the rules have changed in the last few years since i leased it seems i need lots of paperwork and a few hoops to jump through just to get a set of plates .
is there any paperwork that i will have from the lease company that i can use to get new plates ?
i did ask today and they did not seem very helpful at all.....

I usually order plates online and no one wants any paperwork from me. You can ask leasing company for VE103b which will show who's the owner and that you are allowed to drive the car. This might be enough to make plates in person.

I'm getting some plates delivered tomorrow for my private reg, for when my v5 arrives.
Ordered yesterday just from a seller on amazon.
Bought my last ones from a seller on ebay, they didn't need any .documents either.

Of course I must mention we have a great number plate supplier and sponsor: https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/an-introduction-to-number1plates.463841/
I was in a similar position; I wanted new plates for my Formentor before I'd have a V5. I contacted Number 1 Plates; they agreed to accept a copy of the order form from the dealer, which I scanned and emailed to them. They started the manufacturing process the same day, and they were delivered te day after next. So a 48-hour turnaround which meant I had the new plates ready to put on the car as soon as I drove it home from the dealer. PLus I got 20% discount through the forum.

You're welcome; contact them, tell them what you have and ask what they can do. It's what I did and it paid off. I went for pressed metal plates and was delighted with the quality as well as service.
i have sent a message as the phone does not seem to be working. lets see how fast they are.....

Any legal plate will be plain 2D and have the suppliers name on it.
Not entirely true. you still have raised 3d/4d plates as long as they meet the legal requirements that includes the postcode and the suppliers name.
this is from the gov uk website today.

Rules for number plates

The number plates on your vehicle must:
  • be made from a reflective material
  • display black characters on a white background (front plate)
  • display black characters on a yellow background (rear plate)
  • not have a background pattern
  • be marked to show who supplied the number plate
  • be marked with a British Standard number - this is ‘BS AU 145e’ for plates fitted after 1 September 2021
The characters must not be removable or reflective. If your number plates were fitted after 1 September 2021, they must also be a single shade of black.
Your number plates can also:
