too true mate, i don't want to come on here Cupra bashing , but with the new prices 21k by the time youv'e put Xenons on the spec, thats only 6k less than the S3......when you add heated leather seats as std , Quattro , better build and resale value , that eats away at the 6k IMHO

Thanks

Coming from an A3 2.0T Quattro S line with Revo map, i loved the quality and the quattro in the wet/snow etc but couldn't quite feel as comfortable flinging it round corners, felt a bit twitchy. Don't get me wrong, when you want to floor it out of a corner or from stationary it was great and i left many mercs and bmws stuggling, especially driving up icy inclines!! Quality and build of the Audi is far superior but for the price tag.... depending on spec another £5k -£10k over the Cupra for virtually the same car! I loved my Audi and its badge but i have grown to like the Seat badge on my car now and the drive has helped me to do so! Nice car!!!

Hand on heart i can honestly say i never bought the S3 for the 0000 badge , my main want was the Quattro 4wd system! heated leather is decent too, add to that 265-285 bhp! then you have the modding side of things, there is no point having 350bhp if you can't use it till 3rd gear

After you have put Xenons on the Cupra there is only 6k difference , you can option em both upto the eyeballs if you want!

Sorry..... i honestly don't want to get into the S3 is better than the Cupra thing!

You pays you money , you make your choice

Thanks

Yeah i do miss those heated leathers and as i say you will be laughing at everyone on those slippy/ icy/ snowy roads!!

If it wasn't for my situation with a new baby girl and different priorities, i would still have the Audi now....Great cars!!

Good luck with it and don't park it in any tight public car parks, the bast@rds with old bangers don't care!!

My Phantom S3 on the rollers at the Audi-sport.net RR day at Awesome.

The plot, it looks like the S3 puts out more bhp std just like the Cupra and Ed 30

RollingRoad.jpg

There were two other std S3's that were near enough spot on with mine, the two remapped cars Revo and GIAC didn't do as well as we expected 10-20bhp more , but with 20-30lb ft more.

I don't think i'll bother getting a remap untill warrenty expires!

Thanks

Nice choice, I recently sold my S3 due to the running costs but the grip, performance and quality in the cabin is second to none.

Enjoy.

Trust me, the remaps may only make a few numbers worth of difference on the rollers, but it turns it into quite a different animal on the roads. The usuable torque is far improved over standard.

Yeah mate ATW's, the numbers do seem too stack up with the other std S3's , a std 3.2 Quattro ( same drive train ) was bang on the money!

The remapped cars did what it says on the tin 300-310bhp , with 310ish lbft.

One of the remapped lads took me for a spin , it did feel faster , more eager than std, and will be faster on the road , more drivable with the extra lbft .

I just think i may hang fire on a remap for a while , the cars only done 7k.

Some dude from APR was there , and asked one of the std lads could he load the APR map on his car coz he couldn't believe what the std cars were putting out! the APR map made the same as Revo and GIAC, so iam happy the rollers were kosher.

Nice wheels DJ , looks like a different car with skirts and spoiler.

Thanks
