Hi Lads I have an anniversary Golf GT TDI PD 150 hope im welcome here as we share the same engine! Just a quick post to say hi to all the TDI owners

Mine has been tuned by Jabba and has 230bhp with 370 lbs ft and 504 nm torque,it also has an uprated sach organic clutch which does a fine job of getting the power to the wheels

One question I have is when car is cold for about 5 minutes whilst it is warning up the clutch feels lumpy when fully pressed in and makes a little click which you can feel through the peddle?

Once car is upto temp this goes away and clutch is beautiful? Anyone know what might be causing this? and how can I resolve this?

Would new Clutch fluid remedy this? could clutch fluid be low?

If you want to swap your clutch for a standard one, i'll be up for it... I could do with a clutch that works!!! As for your problem, ive not a clue, but im sure someone who does will be along soon :)

Welcome

I had clutch problems on my golf, there is a white plastic piece that sits in the clutch pedal and bears on the master cylinder. A weld on the pedal broke then the plastic bit borke in two, and then bent the clutch master cylinder. It was a bit creaky before it happened.

It might be worth just inspecting the pedal, there is a plastic panel covering it

Just a thought...

Not sure, but I have heard of it going on audis, A3's & A4's.
The RAC man said that he had recovered a few with the same problem.
My Golf had done ~80,000 miles at the time.

sugar 500 nm that 100 more than mine and 230 bhp WOW thats 55%- 60% increase!just a remapp thats alot. how many miles has it done?

uh just noticed uprated nozzles and exhaust and induction :) i see bet it's fun!

i find the grip is hardest with so much torque wheel spin in second and third half thottle it in low gears just can't get power down.

do you suffer heat soak? is is side mounted or fmic?

clutch is also gonna be a little funny at 370lb/ft take it to place that fitted it to see what they say must have a little warrenty on it ;)

You need to change your signature s14a, its a SACHS clutch, not sach. sorry i work for them and it just bugs me when people say sach or sahs(devonmikeyboy). ;)

PD150 is FMIC out of the box. paulo's reckoning on his very tuned toledo was that for an OEM intercooler it was pretty efficient and more than capable for most states of tune.

Different design but similar performance to that in the ibiza cupra.

VAG are such an interesting company...on the top end models they overspec the intercoolers...and cripple the models underneath with inadequate side mounts

Thanks for the welcome guys will check out the clutch pedal issue but it's not consistent only when car is cold I get the clicky pedal and only when fully pressed? When car is warm there is no noise whatsoever and clutch is as smooth as silk? Thats why im thinking its more of a clutch fluid issue perhaps?

Oh and spaniel thanks for the correction sach now changed to SACHS....DO YOU KNOW if these sach clutches have a clicky feel when fully pressed until they warm up?

Hi Matey

Yep car is pretty spectacular im sooo chuffed with it! it has covered 33,000 miles With traction on the car is much better at getting the power down but the light on the dash flashes like an idiot in 2nd 3rd and 4th in the wet lol! It gets full power down in 3rd in the dry but 2nd spins a little and traction control kicks in even in the dry

It has a FMIC as standard and intake temps at current spec are low even with ambient of 23c when it was rolling roaded last

S14A - any chance of finding out anything about your uprated nozzles, please? ;) You've set to not receive PMs so can't ask in private. :D

Would be of interest to me. ;)

Im based in Swansea, where abouts are you?

Id agree it would be impossible to get below 6 secs to 60 due to traction no matter how much power you had! Mid range is astonishing! :D

Do you know how I can change my settings to accept PM's? Have checked my profile but cannot find it?

I have only had the car a few days and just reading through all of the graphs and reciepts and from what previous owner has told me the second map they did involved uprating/adjusting injector nozzles???

But whatever they did im impressed! :D

Anyway back to my clutch problem!!! Well I solved the problem today!!!!......basically there was a piece of plastic trim right down by the clutch pedel which kept on catching on the main clutch arm when fully depressed!! When I drove it my toe when changing gear was catching this trim and knocking it back up hence why clicking sound went once driving for a while!! lol.....managed to push it upwards and rest it on something metal and solid out of the way now! god only knows what that piece of plastic trim is? It seems detached from everything else!

Finally clutch is beautifull again!! smooth and quiet! lol ...Thought id post the remedy incase anyone else ever gets this and doesnt know what the problem is!

in UserCP, there's a link for "options" on the left, and theres a tickbox for allowing private messaging. :)

I thought maybe you'd had the injectors done. If it was Jabbasports work, I may have to ring them up and speak to Mike or Elton and find out exactly what they did. ;)
