Agree with Robin, I would just ask them to remove the wrap conduct the safety PDI and leave the rest to you. Are you driving down to get it?

Don't let the dealer do this to your car I know its blue but mine looks the same in red worst colour I have ever had for swirl marks . Pay for a detailer to prepare your car. (not dealer)

Many thanks indeed and yes I totally agree, I have already warned the dealer about this and especially the gloss black on the B pillars etc etc. I have this Forum to thank for all the warnings! I've also told them not to put a dealer sticker in the back window!

Also meant to say fantastic looking car the ST.
I hope you enjoy your new car great fun as no body knows what sort of power it has (a part from Cupra owners).

Looks lovely. Not seen an Emocion red ST in the metal yet but the colour really suits the bodyshape. I bet you can't wait to pick her up.

Really like it. Enjoy.

Many thanks for everyone's good wishes, it kinda feels you've all been with me on the journey from ordering the ST Cupra back in February to it now arriving at the dealers, so appreciate all the camaraderie!

Now then, does any one know of a good vehicle detailer in the Brighton area or should I drive it back to Yorkshire and get it detailed at home?

When I had ordered mine from Lifestyle (never arrived but not their fault - some calamity in Spain) the saleman Josh said they had one pretty decent Valeter which he always uses on his customers cars. If they insist on washing it speak to Josh.

I can only recommend KDS Detailing but they are a fair distance in Gillingham and will have a waiting list.

Think I would just let dealer do bare minimum, get it home and give it a gentle wash myself, polish and wax myself. If your driving back via the dartford tunnel don't forget you need to pay by phone now.

Many thanks Rob - it is Josh whom I'm dealing with and already given him a long list of requests with regards to the prep of the car. I think you're right I think I may drive it home and do it myself - have already bough a selection of Gtechniq products.

Thanks also for the tip on the Dartford Crossing as haven't used it for a couple of years!

Just had another look at your pics Andy and I'm going to have to say that red is now my fave colour in the ST and I think it's one of the only colors that work well for the SC and 5drs too.

Don't forget to post some post detail pics. It's gonna look [B)]

Cheers JMAC! Aching to see the car with the panoramic roof uncovered too which will add another dimension to it. Currently have a Misano Red Audi A3 with the Black Open Sky roof which also looks the business, though my missus wanted me to get a different colour this time round, but I love red and it didn't cost any extra - I will spend the money instead on having it detailed to keep a nice gloss on it and protect it from the UV.
Will post some more pic in due course

VW is to charge for red soon think it will be £350 may be Seat and Skoda will follow so be no free colours just another way of getting more money out of you.

I seem to remember at one time in the past, SEAT used to charge extra for Emocion Red and I was surprised it was free when I eventually came round to ordering the car, though I may be wrong on this?
