My New Mk2 (gearbox problem)

Hello there peeps, I am new to this site and also new to Seat's. I have just bought myself a Ibiza 2.0 8v Gti Cupra Sport. I don't have any knowledge what so ever on gearboxes and would appreciate your help. The problem is that its very tight and hard to find the gears. I was wondering if changing the gearbox oil might help this matter, or if I should just get another box.
Like I said, any help would be greatly appreciated.

8v is rod change, so could be linkages need greasing. Unless the gearbox oil was really gone it shouldnt be too hard.

could be clutch cable needs adjusting (but never works well anyway) or the rod to the gearbox is out of alignment.
