A big thanks to Ben (again) for all his work over the weekend.

The engine is now out of the car and stripped down. Looks like it's the piston ring from No.1 that is on it's way out and 4 has also started. The head gasket looked like it's been leaking too.

One of my friends is going to check the block for me to see if it's damaged at all and hopefully strip the pistons out too.

:(

I'm looking forward to setting to work on mine now, not sure i really want to know what's going on inside but it's gotta be done

Atleast you've got the animal of and mx5 to run around in mate, it'll all be worth it in the end

Uprating the rods for when it gets a bigger turbo, not sure on pistons yet, i'll have to see when they come out and the bores are checked.

Rods will definately get uprated. I can't really afford to get uprated pistons, and never plan to run a big enough turbo to warrent having them either so i'm hoping the block is okay and standard size ones can be fitted.

My seats arrived this morning.

They're already back in the box as they won't be fitted for a few months yet.

I've also sold my Odyssey battery to be replaced with a bigger one at some point.

Hell yeah! I checked some trainers on and ran down the drive!

Just got them sitting in my room now, along with the harnesses and the rear bench seat! Haha.

Thought i'd add a quick pic of the current state of play with Martin's car, i've been at work today pulling the bottom end apart (this is all new to me so i'm learning again and having fun whilst doing it)

No1 and no4 bores are slightly scored but apart from that everything else looks okay, it's going off monday to be inspected by a proper machine shop so will hopefully know what we're into by the end of the week

All depends on what needs replacing, it's getting uprated rods at minimum but depends what they come back with once engines been inspected, if it needs pistons it's probably going to be a while.

Once all the parts are together i would hope a couple of weekends would see it running again
