Seeing as i have a spare 5 minutes i thought i'd update the thread as it's been a while.

Unfortunatly not a great deal to report, i've finally brought my first place so the car is now on the back burner and spends most of it's time sat in the garage doing nothing (it will probably end up coming off the road soon)

BHP show at Lydden has been and gone and once again the car was faultless all day (except for a bit of a leak inside when it raided)

All 5 session were good but the final session was the most interesting with approx 4-5 cars on track (myself and Martin spent most of this session playing cat and mouse games round the track :) )

I'm slowly trying to get the car ready for the next trackday in november at snetterton but so far have made 0 progress.

Current plans are to fit the carbon door cards i've got hold of, remove all stereo and extra wiring that's not required and re-work the dash to house my gauges so i can get rid of the centre console.

Once the K04 highflow manifolds become available i'll be fitting one of these and booking the car back in with Bill to have the map tweeked and see if a K04 hybrid can break the 300bhp mark.

Now that i'm back on the net again i'll try and update the thread a bit more as i progress, few pics from BHP below :)

Finally got round to having a day in the workshop so thought i'd crack on with a project i'd wanted to do for ages but never found the enthusiasm for.

Now that the car is rarely used it's pretty much just a toy for the occasional blast and track action so mod cons are slowly getting binned, the heating system was next on the list and with the speakers already gone it was time for the radio and climate control to go.

After picking up a mk4 polo heater box and controls i set about ripping the dash out again (lost track of the amount of times i've done this now) and set to removing the heater box.
With the 2 on the floor side by side there was a few differences but thankfully nothing that couldn't be adapted with the use of a few tools.

New box is now in the car and i'm finally back to 3 control dials and rid of the screen/radio box and all the climate control functions it still had, next on the list is to make up a fasia plate of some sort so i can mount the gauges in the dash, i've also got a set of manual mk3 heater controls on order so will see if these look any better in the dash before i start with the fasia.

I'll update with more pics as it progresses but for now here's todays work

Looking good mate. I may have to copy you on this one as I think my idea isn't going to work.

awesome!, how is your car popping flames?!!! I thought it wasn't possible on K03/K04 based turbo's, Hybrid and all......

Sweet track tool though. Mo likes this.

It's all down to the fueling as i understand it, to many mods and tweeks have probably helped aswell though

Thanks for the comments

Seats!

Stunning car you have, alot of shear man hours and persistence!

Thinking of sticking some of the red recaro seats from a honda integra dc5 into my 2001 Ibiza cupra and just wondering if your frames etc are custom. Cheers.:D

Far to many man hours thrown at it, and it doesn't look like it will ever stop!!

Subframes are genuine recaro ones made to fit the mk2/3 ibiza, there pretty pricey at approx £80 each but fit straight in with they no mods (they may be up for sale soon but i will stick a post in the for sale section if/when)

Snet trackday update

Well yesterday saw the trip back to snet for the last trackday of the year

In true midnight motors stylee the day before went to pot and caused a few headaches

Whilst having a quick check under the car i found an oil leak from one of the braided oil cooler lines, after stripping and refitting it was still leaking so decided to whip it all off and cut down the pipe and try again.
This unfortunatly didn't cure the problem which now looks to be with the aeroquip fitting so i've got to get that sorted.

This problem lead me to refitting the factory oil cooler so i could atleast use the car, as always with me i had everything i need except an oil seal for the cooler, so in steps the cordy to save the day!!
With Martin's help we got the cordy to work on the other ramp and stripped it for parts to rebuild the ibiza ready to go, all this meant we missed the evening social but finally rolled up at the travelodge at 11pm.

Come the morning we got to the track and set about signing on, etc ready for some track action.
With sighting laps out the way off we went for the first session, all went well and we had a play with a few quick bits of kit.
Upon returning to the pits and opening the bonnet my next problem arose, oil eveywhere and a catch tank overflowing??
After cleaning everything up i then set about making a new ghetto style catch can, it was pretty crude but did the job for the rest of the day (needed emptying every 2 sessions tho so i've deffinatly got problems somewhere)

The rest of the day went off without to many problems, one near trip onto the grass with mylo onboard and the heater motor packing up about cover it.

The trip home wasn't much fun with a big accident on the M11 and no heating all the way but all in a pretty good day.

The car attracted a few good comments which is always nice, a bmw driver commenting on the flames coming out the back were almost long enough to scorch his bumper and possibly the best one all day from a guy with a new shape focus rs running circa 350bhp saying how he was only just reeling me in at the end of the straights :)

As always a few pics (some are stollen from other peoples fb accounts so hope they don't mind)

Time for another update :)

With Snet out the way i've started to work through (more like add to) my todo list

New seats have been on the cards for a while but i've been arguing with myself wether i actually need them or not, after a trip to Brands Hatch for race car live i sat in what i thought i wanted but then found something else that just felt right so ended up buying them!!

New seat's also meant decent harnesses so i now have a pair of 5 point harnesses waiting to be fitted.

Finally after reading good reviews about a certain 3" tip for K04 turbo's i decided one of them would go well with my hybrid so i have that sat at work waiting to be fitted aswell.

I'll try and get some decent pics as and when i get round to fitting bits but for the moment here's a couple of crappy phone pics

Big thanks go out to F2Stu aswell for welding in my new seat rails
