Update time :)

Well it's been a few weeks so time for another update.

Running in period is over and the cars done it's first trackday since the rebuild

Managed to clock up the first 500 miles within 5 days so then carried out an oil and filter change switching from mineral oil to 10w40 semi synthetic and raised my rev limit to 5k.

4 days later saw another 500 miles racked up so it was time for yet another oil and filter change but this time onto 5w40 fully synthetic and more importantly time to open it up properly :)

First impression were more than expected, spool up time has reduced by approx 500rpm so it's hitting full boost around the 2800rpm mark now which makes it almost like my old k03s set-up.

After racking up another 500 miles i decided to dump the oil and filter again before i took it on track at Lydden, during the day the car developed a slight overfueling problem at idle but looked great on track by all accounts throwing flames out the exhaust for most of the day :funk:

Once the day was over it was driven home and left in the garage and almost untouched for 2 weeks as i've been busy with the rebuild on Martin's engine.

When i got a chance i decided to have a look at the problem with the fueling, managed to trace the fault to a dirty maf sensor, during the day at Lydden the pas resivoir had been throwing out fluid which had slowly made it's way down the filter onto the maf and coated it in fluid (hence it reading wrong at idle but okay/ish when under load on track)
I've cleaned the maf sensor and housing out and all is now okay although i'll probably stick a new maf on it soon.

Next on the list is hopefully a 3" downpipe and then a tweek of the map to take advantage of the new internals.

Thanks for the comments :)

Managed to give the car a quick clean and checkover today and replace the dodgy pas resivoir, think it'll be spending the next few weeks locked away and then it's going off for a bit more work ;)

Sorry for digging up an old set of photo's but Im after some advice/assistance. Im having to change the wishbone bushes on the front of my car as they are starting to seperate with age etc. Im just going to change the whole arm. Would you recommend using the LCR bushes?? I use my car everyday so dont know if it will make a difference/be worth it.

On the photo's above Im guessing the top photo is with the Ibiza bush and the bottom one is the LCR one. How much were each of the LCR bushes??

Thanks in advance.

I still can't fault the LCR bushes, they've been on for a couple of track days now and still standing up well, personally i'd say they were as good as the polysport bushes i was running before (and less of a pain to fit)
Really depends on what your looking at from your car, if it's a daily and just used for running about in i probably wouldn't bother, if you like to chuck it about a bit then for the money i'd go for it.

Price wise there about £14 a bush from Seat , i'm sure ecp do them for about £8-£9 and there the same bush with the VW part no ground off, if your doing complete arms it could be worth chucking a set in while there off the car.

Cheers mate. I like to chuck the car about abit and its used for running about in, its done for abit of both. Think I may just stick with the normal bushes in the arms.
