As a first car id just lower it and enjoy  Theres no point going over the top with it in your first year of driving imo, especially with how many new drivers write their cars off nowadays

well thanks for the advise everyone, its in real need for respay. paint is shocking condition tbh.

no amount a polishing will help the poor thing.

i would start with all the small mods and bits and bobs right away but i need spending money for Goodwood Festival of Speed! setting off tomorrow for six days of pure car ****!

any one else going? were camping for the full six days, guna be mint.

(ordered a memory stick for me camera, aint come yet. would of had pics up by now if i had it)

My SXE came with reflector strips, I did however paint them the same colour as the car (lazuli blue) and in my opinion they came out really well.

Definitely top of the mod list would have to be some nice 15/16 alloys. I am only lowering mine now after 2 years.
A tasteful backbox is also a very cheap mod. Nothing too noisy, and a twin pipe/oval looks nice. Don't go for a 6" round tip :p

yeah that looks really good, how hard is it to get the plastic off the boot? Might give this a go :)

i primed mine first just to build up a few coats, hopefully it will resist the power washer

i was thinking about leaving them white, looked mint.

espesh if the car was black? might do that later on, when scraped funds together for respray:help:

Are you really going to get it resprayed? Just seems like a waste of money that could be spent towards getting a Mk2 in better condition and higher specced?

I know it's your car, you should do whatever you want with it, but I've been there with the first car, a 1.4, spent loads of money on it which I wish I hadn't now...Could have funded for a better car now!

:)

even though its my first car i will be keeping it for at least two years. want to be happy with it. just got some flap discs and wire brush discs for refurbing my steelys. its a project to for me learning how to repair a car and get my head round the basics and stuff. rather mess it up on my first little car then attempt it on something i really love later on. if that makes sense?

thanks for the concern though! might leave it till ive driven it for a while once its back on the road?

oh and check this website out guys! im spraying my steelys white, with glow in the dark green over the top!
