My dreams have been shattered!!!!

Well it seems miracles do happen, I decided to bite the bullet and inform my insurance company that my car is a Cupra T and not a 1.8i SE and in the end got a bit of a result...
I had to pay an extra £8 for the final two weeks that the policy has to run to ensure that the car is now covered as a Cupra which is fair enough, however the premium cannot be backdated so it has saved me over £150! In addition, I was told that if I had had to make a claim during the time that the car was listed as a 1.8iSE, then the insurance company would have listened back to the tapes of my original phone conversation and provided that I had supplied the correct model and registration they would have had no option but to honour the claim.

My 225 was showing as a 180 on a website and when I arranged the insurance they changed it to 225 over the phone. However when the documents came through it was back to a 180.

I phoned up Flux and complained but they were good and honoured the quote :).

Yes, but on whose part. The thing is I had done quite a few internet quotes and was thinking of cancelling the part-completed policy and taking out a totally new one for the Leon at the time, but based on the additional premium info on "my" car that they gave me during the phone conversation I decided that economically it was better to stay with them. The way I look at it I have been given false and misleading information, as insurance companies like to call it.

Insurance companies send you out a Policy Schedule before a Certificate. Asking you to correct any details on the Schedule. If you ignore this, and then they come to look at your car after an accident. You don't have many options left.
