Well it seems miracles do happen, I decided to bite the bullet and inform my insurance company that my car is a Cupra T and not a 1.8i SE and in the end got a bit of a result...
I had to pay an extra £8 for the final two weeks that the policy has to run to ensure that the car is now covered as a Cupra which is fair enough, however the premium cannot be backdated so it has saved me over £150! In addition, I was told that if I had had to make a claim during the time that the car was listed as a 1.8iSE, then the insurance company would have listened back to the tapes of my original phone conversation and provided that I had supplied the correct model and registration they would have had no option but to honour the claim.
