Hello guys, I have question about motorway lights. I have option "Motorway lights" in settings and I can on or off it, but I do not have position for light switch to auto. I do not have auto lights. Is that mean I do not have motorway lights and that in settings is for some another model? Also when I want to turn on coming home lights, I need to flash high beam once and when I open driver door, lights turn on for 30 seconds.
Thanks. I will try to attach my gopro camera on the hood and try to catch moment when motorway lights moves.I don't believe motorway lights require you to have automatic lights.
So long as your headlights are on, motorway lights should activate, as far as I'm aware. I never really notice much of a difference with the motorway light function though.
Coming home lights are automatic if you have auto lights, but the way to activate them without is as you've described.
According to my manual, they come on after you've spent 30 seconds doing more than 110 km/h.Thanks. I will try to attach my gopro camera on the hood and try to catch moment when motorway lights moves.
nobody drives at 70mph in this country lolin the owner’s manual it says “When going above 110 km/h (75 mph) for more than 30 seconds the dipped beam raises slightly to increase the distance of visibility of the driver”. As the Motorway speed limit is 70mph in the UK I’m wondering if anyone has had any luck lowering the speed.
In my country speed on highway is limited at 130km/h or 80mphnobody drives at 70mph in this country lol
either doing 60 or 80+
jokes aside, i never noticed when NOT doing 70mph
On the Mk5 Golf the lights used to come on at c.90 mph (140 kph) with auto lights (based in Germany at the time, so definitely worked).Massive thread revival here.
Im looking at changing this setting on my 2019 R ST
I find the headlights not great on fast roads, motorway etc etc and I never see the lights raising even though I’ve ticked motorway lights in the settings.
The only setting I can find in the Control Unit 09 that might relate to this is
“RLS Lights for AutoBahn”
Is this the setting to adjust ?
Also the speeds are 140kph on, 65kph off
And 10secs delay on and 120secs off.
Doesn’t seem like the same settings everyone else on this thread is talking about ????
Cheers bud.I'd start off by making sure the lights are aligned properly to start with. When I got my Leon, the lights were terrible at night. Shining what felt like only feet in front of me. Unfamiliar dark back roads where impossible to go at anything above 30/40 MPH. When it had its first service, I got them to check the alignment and it was way off. Now they're literally like 'night and day' difference!
One way to check if the system is working (headlights, plus the front and rear levelling sensors) is on start up at night whilst facing a wall or garage door - the light beams will move across the full range as part of the built in test. Mine definitely work as intended at UK motorway speeds. I live quite close to a motorway/national speed limit road, and see the beams lower when I arrive home, but it is not noticeable when they are activated. It’s strange however that there is mention in a lot of places from Seat - online,
Car handbook about 110kph raising of the headlights.
Mine definitely don’t raise at 110kph, I can see about 5meters of the road ahead, no more.
The reference I found in Contol module 9,
RLS for Autobahn clearly shows 140kph.
But why would it be called RLS (rain/light sensor) in reference to control the headlight raising ?
Surely all that implies is it is in fact an on/off feature of the headlights at 140kph.
Im not sure how I can test this… drive at 86mph during the day somehow try and tell if the headlights come on![]()
