Motorway lights

in the owner’s manual it says “When going above 110 km/h (75 mph) for more than 30 seconds the dipped beam raises slightly to increase the distance of visibility of the driver”. As the Motorway speed limit is 70mph in the UK I’m wondering if anyone has had any luck lowering the speed.

I take it this only applies to the Full LED headlights?

Could be wrong but sounds like something that could be adjusted using VCDS? There are many options in there but most of it is written in German.

Someone on here posted that there is a Seat dealer update campaign for the led headlights software
But no one knew what the update was

Could it be to lower the limit at which they lift to make that feature more suitable for countries with stupidly low motorway speed limits like the UK?

Well i even hit 220 KM/H (135 MP/H) but didnt notice any difference on the lights, but its not hard to do, the car can adjust height of the lights automatically, so might be making a very slight change which you might not be able to see while driving, at least might not be as clear as it is on high beams, the change there is very obvious on high beams :)

Thanks for the advice. I don't have a VCDS cable to try so I've booked it in with the dealer to see if they can change it I'll let you know how I get on.

legal?
this is from seat leon instruction manual:
Motorway lights*

The motorway lights are available on vehicles equipped both with full-LED

lights and headlights that switch on automatically.

● They are activated when the light switch is in position AUTO.

● They are deactivated when the light switch is not in position AUTO.

When going above 110 km/h (75 mph) for more than 30 seconds, the dipped

beam raises slightly to increase the distance of visibility of the driver.

When reducing the speed of the car below 100 km/h (60 mph), the dipped

beam returns to its normal position.

The speed can be change for 65 mph or less easily

Correct, hard to notice difference, but I noticed.
The only possible way how to notice change is:
1. Drive in the night, out of the city, empty highway (as dark as possible)
2. Drive slower than 110kmh in the most left lane and check light horizon as close to your vehicle as possible on the left safety fence. You can see the edge of the horizon on the fence.
3. Increase speed over 110kmh and start to count seconds (stopwatches on the phone for example) when passing 110kmh. You don't have to speed up too much, just keep above 110kmh.
4. Keep driving and counting seconds.
5. When reached 28s, focus your view again on the left lane safety fence light horizon, again as close to your vehicle as possible, and watch the change.
6. With this setup, you can clearly see how the beam goes a little bit up.

Be careful when driving. It took me some time to notice it, but it works.

Most of users will never notice it, because if they are on empty highway in the night, they will use hi-beam settings of headlights. It is not possible to see the difference in the hi-beam settings, as both regular/hi-beam lights have their own mirrors and this speed change touches only regular mirrors and their settings is still under hi-beam mirrors. So with hi-beam - no visible change.

Picture of my setting will be a bit useless for you, not in english/german, not in understandable language.. :p:D

Why you want a pic?
What is unclear to you?
Btw. each model has different setting, based on car configuration. If you did not bought home/leave function, you do not have it in setting. If yes, then it is there.
