Car failed on both front shocks leaking, it's on ap coilovers so are they the shocks? Or not i haven't got a clue aha!

If your car failed today, even if the mot isn't due today.. Its classed as a fail, so you can't use the car on the road until it is re-tested and passed.
Just read that you were wanting to use the car to get to work.
Sorry mate, that's just not right. If the MOT certificate hasn't run out yet then the car still has a valid MOT certificate then it's legal to drive. It may not be roadworthy (which is a different issue altogether) but as far as MOT is concerned it still has one, even if it just failed an MOT.
if it fails, your still allowed to drive it home. & to & from the testing station. so i cant see why you cant drive it to another garage for repairs.
of course you can drive away to get repairs if the car fails the MOT.
There are loads of testing places that do not repiars!
However, there is a caviat: you must pre book the MOT and drive to the test station only. If you do not book then if you get stopped you are buggered.
