Never heard of a Ibiza failing on that before... I don't even think the anti roll bar has a dust cover? Its just 2 drop links that are joined with a connecting bar?

I can understand if it was the cover for the CV joint on the driveshaft as it can cause the bearings to fail. Have you had a look yourself to inspect the said cover? You can probably put the car on an axel stand and use a torch to see where the cover is and where the split is.

Think it's a new reg if any gator or boot is split so it allows outside debris or dust into the joint it is a failure

Have you tried the dealers

Yes, but the OP really needs to find out what he needs as I agree with an earlier poster - there are no dust covers on the ARB.

Maybe read the MOT failure report again as if the garage say its an ARB dust cover then they are talking mince!

Just buy two new droplinks then. Piece of piss to fit as well its just two bolts and it comes off each side. Plus there pretty much cheap.

Personnally i think they where looking for an excuse to keep your custom so they can charge x ammount of hours to change them for you.

lol it doesn't work like that.

My last car failed in March for arb dust covers. The fitted new drop links there and then and passed it.

Ask them what they mean. Sounds like they may mean a drive shaft gaiter or something relating to the drop links.

So just needs some new drop links, regardless if they should be failed or not its worth doing.

It takes about 20mins to change them out at home and about £20 to do. Just get some orderd.
