MkI Arosa Suspension failing

I recently had my Arosa MOT'd, and it failed due to a leaking rear shock.

Thats fair enough you may think, but I've got a receipt from before I bought it - for fitting new rear shocks!
So that means the last pair fitted lasted 2 and a half years, and less than 10,000 miles!

Now, my car has only done 49k, so it's not high mileage, but is now on it's third set of rear shocks. It's only used for commuting in town.
Has anyone else had theirs replaced?

I replaced my suspension shocks and springs as one of the springs had cracked and it was easier to replace all of it. I understand you might not want to do that. however, when I removed the rear shock it was leaking a little bit too. I would be suspicious of receipts from previous owners as you can never account for who carried out the work ? Replace it and keep an eye on it.

They've been replaced with Monroe ones now, with warranty.

I'm starting to think it's a Seat thing, I've heard of other Seats needing replacement shocks.
