I know you can't run lower than a certain offset, im just wondering why? Why does a lower offest wheel not fit and where does it rub? I understand offset, its just visualising where a set of wheels would sit thats confusing me :)

If its a low offset on a wide wheel then there is more chance of the wheel rubbing on the arch

hi, with the skoda vRS alloys (spider ones) fitting to a ibiza cupra tdi is it only the 17's that fit?
and they fit well with no spacers as my cars standard.

and on the off chance any for sale? can't stand the cupra tdi alloys

thanks, Barry

Celica momo alloys

About to get some R16 7j et22 ch49 alloys off a celica and wanted to know if they will go straight on? Many thanks George

Guys,

Following on from my thread about Cupra alloys, I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to find a set quickly so I am looking to purchase some OZ F1's with tires to tide me over until I find some standard Cupra rims! Can somebody please confirm that these will fit over the Cupra brakes, using spacers is fine if necessary!

Spec as follows:
OZ F1's
5 x 100
7J
et35

Any help is much appreciated as I am a bit clueless on et even after reading up about it!!

Cheers!

They'll definitely bolt onto the car, but you might end up with a 20-30mm spacer. I can;t say for definite but some wheels certainly do

So the et being 6mm lower means the wheels will sit 6mm further in to the car, is that correct? As apposed to poke 6mm further out?

With the et being 35 if I added 10mm spacers would that mean the et would then in effect be 45 so the wheels would stick out 4mm more then the standard wheels?

Geez this stuff is confusing!

Cheers

ET35 will stick out 6mm more than standard. The lower the number, the further they stick out.

On most cars, getting the offset close is all you need, but because of the AP calipers, offset is pretty much irellevant on cupras. Its brake clearance you need to worry about, and no-one ever advertises that

Cheers for the help, I think I will get them bought! If they don't fit I will have a a little cry though!
