Bizarrely I have just received a quote from SEAT explaining that I can now place an order.

However, if I want the standard alloys there is an extra 12 week wait. If I pay extra (610 quid) for the 19" multi black alloys then the standard lead time is just 9 weeks. So 21 week lead time for 290 with standard alloys. Problem is my current car goes back March 8th.

I'll have to do some googling to see what these black multi spoke alloys look like I guess. I'm also trying to find out what the new standard paint "Mediterranean blue" looks like. May plump for it if it's decent. However, I have a feeling it'll probably be some awful baby blue. If so its a toss up between dynamic or monsoon grey. Hmmmm decisions

All the dealer demos on auto trader have multi spoke. There are a few monsoon grey on there.

Mine is monsoon grey with multi and I think it looks good.

Got my 280 ST MY16 now. Came on Continentals. The subwoofer in the Seat sound system is a joke, it's like a 4" cone in a tiny plastic jar much like the cheapest computer speaker set sub.

Everything OK except for one thing, the small display between the speedo and the tacho is monochrome with boring fonts, not colour graphics like this:


Not impressed with the paint job on the calipers:

As far as I know, cars without navi system come with monochrome FIS display.

Mine will come with monochrome also, but at least I know It from ordering... Bad job of your dealer if didn't adviced you about.

About the dirt on calipers: what was odo mileage at delivery? Guys from factory told me that every 50 cars they take a turn around the factory road (~30Km) as a quality control check, but i'm not sure about if they disconnect odo fuse to avoid recording this mileage / reset odo after test or the mileage keeps recorded.

Maybe your car (like hundreds of Seat Leon, it is random) has passed this test and someone forgot to clean the calipers.

So called Seat, as my car was built last week. It will arrive in the UK on Sunday. But I asked to confirm if it was a 280 or a 290. This time Seat told me a 280. So I'm just confused what it is that will be coming lol. I ordered the a 280 and I'm happy with that, still seems though Seat UK are confused what is going on.

The manager at my SEAT dealership clarified for me today that the 280 that I ordered 4 weeks ago will definitely be a 290 as he has checked the factory system and is being built next week so I should be one of the first to have a 290 mid/late December... they also confirmed that they will soak up any extra charges as I had a bit of a moan about the 290 costing more than the agreed price on he 280 bonus.

As promised here are photos the orange in 'person' is certainly not as in your face as on the youtube videos I have seen extremely pleased with it. Unfortunately the weather is rubbish this was the best moment to capture it in the frost and already dirty!

Edit: @Bleedsoff They come with everything I think you will ever need when buying a car like this!!!!

I would imagine the DSG units have a form of it on there - our old Mk2 Ph1 FR DSG had it but we never used it for fear of lunching the clutch(es) and/or tyres.

As you will see from this thread it is difficult to get info but Seat UK are your best bet.
