Nice spec.

Can I just ask when you are expecting delivery and who you ordered from?

I'm trying to order a 290 but it's turning into a nightmare. SEAT don't seem to have a clue and it doesn't seem to be available to order yet via any leasing companies!

I bet you can't wait!

Thanks

I went with broker4cars. They were super helpful, gave me a decent price and were patient with all my questions. They quoted 18-20 weeks (so a delivery early March, apparently) which I've psychologically prepared for, so anything sooner than that (and the dude said there's a possibility) is icing.

Cheers for that.

Bizarrely I have just received a quote from SEAT explaining that I can now place an order.

However, if I want the standard alloys there is an extra 12 week wait. If I pay extra (610 quid) for the 19" multi black alloys then the standard lead time is just 9 weeks. So 21 week lead time for 290 with standard alloys. Problem is my current car goes back March 8th.

I'll have to do some googling to see what these black multi spoke alloys look like I guess. I'm also trying to find out what the new standard paint "Mediterranean blue" looks like. May plump for it if it's decent. However, I have a feeling it'll probably be some awful baby blue. If so its a toss up between dynamic or monsoon grey. Hmmmm decisions

Yeah, I'm haggling with the salesperson now, to try and get the cost of the alloys knocked off the deal price. Poor planning on their part if they don't have the alloys. Either that, or a method to screw more dollar out of customers to cover cost of the emissions scandal

Here is my monsoon grey with black line wheels. The multi spokes are really nice too.

Getting mine on Friday. Although not a 290 I don't believe, although it would be a nice surprise if it was!

Mine is (according to dealer) in build next week but they reckon that it'll be a 280 ? What's your thoughts. I ordered it 3 weeks ago - S/C, DSG, monsoon grey, multi black alloys, sound pack.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry too much as I think the 290 is just a badge, they seem to be pushing 300bhp out the factory anyway. I understand it would be preferable to have the 290 and according to reports you should be getting a 290 as 280 builds ended a few weeks back according to SEAT

I'll be happy either way as when I ordered it was a 280, so if by any chance turns out differently it's an added bonus. Be good for everyone to keep posted on what they receive !

Got my 280 ST MY16 now. Came on Continentals. The subwoofer in the Seat sound system is a joke, it's like a 4" cone in a tiny plastic jar much like the cheapest computer speaker set sub.

Everything OK except for one thing, the small display between the speedo and the tacho is monochrome with boring fonts, not colour graphics like this:

Not impressed with the paint job on the calipers:

Agreed on the sub.... Makes little or no difference at all! At least it is only 150 quid. The canton in Skoda isn't meant to be much better and that's 500!

My display is as shown in your pic and very good.

Not looked at my calipers

Did you order a new one or is in second hand? If the options list say you should have a colour display I would take it back and complain! Can't really see the fuss on the calipers? Aren't they just dirty?

That's what I thought too, they look filthy, mine are cleaner and that's without a wash for two weeks and it has been a monsoon here for the last week. When washed mine look great with a good finish and my car is now past 16 months old.
