Having a closer look at the details. Looks like our photoshop / predictions aren't far off. All to be expected though.

- Honeycomb grill - check
- Cupra bage - check
- Front slats below grille - check (5 instead of 4)
- Bigger brakes / discs - check
- Bigger wheels - guess won't be final, but the R's in black look sweet on it
- Rear diffuser - check
- Twin exhaust - check
- Slightly extended roof spoiler over the std car - check
- Can't see the seats well enough, but look like standard FR seats at the mo - might not be final.

Expect the bumpers to be in black as per MK2 Cupra vs FR, and bob's your uncle.

I expect 345mm 1pot brakes as per MK2 Cupra/Cupra R to be standard on this.

Certainly won't be the TTRS set up in them pics

Maybe they are actually testing the cupra r? With them front brakes it is quite possible and all they have done is used the SC to cover it up with a few subtle changes...........

Keep DSG as an option if it means the price is lower. Just needs to have 260+bhp, LSD, decentsh looks (the standard body kit will do), LEDs, 18 inch wheels and be 100+ kilos lighter than the mk2 LCR and I'll be happy.

The mule we saw previously would have been testing the car to its limits most likely. That was not covered in camo. This time they are trying to hide a much nearer production version. The Cupra R is only a suggestion at this stage (3 years at least away)

The Cupra looks good and given the excellent reviews that the new Leon has received so far, plus how highly regarded the new Golf GTI is… I'm genuinely hoping for the best of both worlds - if SEAT can offer this in or around £25-26k for near enough a full package SC minus DSG and perhaps 'Racing brakes' then they may well be on to a winner

Having had a closer look at the car tonight too i see the rear spoiler on the boot seem to run down the sides too if you compare it to a normal SC. It's the only way i can explain it but you can see the line running down the tail gate where the edge of the glass sits is definitely raised higher as if the spoiler "wraps" round it in a U shape. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

I can't remember if Seat publicly said anything about Cupra R, but I saw on Seat Croatia facebook page a picture of Cupra R engine(I think its from MK2) and they wrote something along the lines "What do you think about new Seat Leon Cupra R 300bhp engine".

Seat are always late to the party. I will decide between the Golf R mk7 and M135i in spring. BTW I have been out in a few M135,s and it's way better than my breathed on K1. Are Seat loosing the plot or gracefully backing out of the power race. If it happens the mk3 LCR must have DSG to stand a chance of keeping its customers.

The BMW just looks ugly and lacks the LSD it needs for that power. And being honest it needs four wheel drive as even standard it's squirmy even on a dry road. Agree that it's an awesome drive though :)

I will most likely be going BMW Al, LSD is 2K fitted, add mapping and TBE and your looking at circa 400bhp and in auto form probably 4 sec sprint ability. Add in the fact that some have got 20% off retail and it makes a lot of sense for me. I have had a lot of loyalty to Seat over the years but as said earlier, they just don,t move with the times.

As much as I'd like to own a BMW for sideways action the interior is too bland and boring (not that seats are out of this world, lol) but I'd forget what car I'm driving as they all seem to be the same

Got to remember these Articles are written by people like me.

I was at the MK3 SC launch a few months ago mixing it with editors from Autotrader, Auto express, What car etc etc etc... We discussed the R over the evening meal and i said it would be nice to have DSG and 4WD..

What they write isn't always gospel truth

From what ive heard speaking to people high up in SEAT UK, SEAT Italia and a few others i know which work for SEAT Sport ES its not expected to have 4wd. Saying that things can change

There will be a 4WD Leon ST though.. If combined with a decent TDI engine this could make a good car for tuning
