mk2 induction

hey i just got rid of my vw golf mk2 1.3 and now i have an ibiza salsa 1.4i, engine code ABD and i want to make an iduction system for it, i have seen it done and what i would like to know is , is it a good idea? does it damage the engine? and what would i need?? any help would be great thanx

I got the 1.6,i got a replacement fillter and run a ram pipe direct in to the air box from the front end,dont get any induction noise tho,but you get more cold air in!

My lesser version of it.....

still sounded bloody good and gave me at least 40bhp

100mm filter, 100mm **** pipe 90deg bend, 100mm **** pipe flexi

all air sealed etc, roared really well & made a massive (for a 1.4) performance difference.

I karnt stop laughing,wow your a doctor!i did something simler and will put pics up when i get to a pc!i got told that the standard 1 air box works fantastic and i should use a replacement filter,so i added a ram pipe aswell!

on my vario's airbox I just took a 35mm hole saw to everything on the 'outside' dirty edge

sounded good.... but gave no increase

I had a green induction kit (P111) and a pipe feeding to it from down below!! Although I think it would be better fixing the induction kit somewhere away from the top of the engine...and having a pipe running to the top like all of the above

Just don't fit an induction kit to your 1.4 unless its shielded from the heat of the engine and can get plenty of cold air to it.

Otherwise, performance filter and fit a hose to extend from where it takes cold in from now to somewhere that it can get it

i want to take my standard airbox off my 1.4 and mount an induction filter towards the front what do i need to connect the pipe to the carb/injector system?????

I wouldn't say it improved performance too much but mine looks like this.....

since you took the old neck off the origional air intake, and put the induction kit on , did you keep the normal filter on still, inside?

its a good idea! might try it if i get one later on....
